OMG! I saw Fred Thompson in a movie tonight!
I had rented Albert Brooks' Looking For Comedy In the Muslim World (2005) on a whim and decided to check it out tonight. It had barely gotten started when boom! There was Fred Thompson, playing....Fred Thompson. (Brooks identifies him as the guy who "used to be a Senator, now he's an actor".) In the movie, Thompson is the head of a governmental commission that sends Brooks on his titular quest. He's only in one short scene and does a pretty good job of it.

BTW, he is listed on the DVD box as "Fred Dalton Thompson".

5. I thought he was good in "The Hunt for Red October"
Which is why he should run as Veep or something. Keep playing the bit parts. Go with what you know.
