A little joke on DU yesterday, I thought was pretty funny.
Someone had a post about the Supreme Court taking away away Al Gore's Nobel Prize and awarding it to the chimp.

I told it with a straight face to a lot of people yesterday. And they ALL believed me.

I guess nobody puts anything past this bunch anymore.

1. That's pretty sad, but I sure agree with you.
I wouldn't have believed you since this is one thing that the Supreme Court couldn't influence, but I sure don't put anything past this bunch. As I've discussed with friends, every time you think that something that they pull absolutely has to be the very last straw, they come up with something worse and their previous transgressions become old news and are pretty much forgotten...:-(

to take it away and give it to Petraeus!

That's as close as they dare get to saying bush deserves it.

How they rationalize that supposed alternative truly escapes me. I think it is supposed to be that Petraeus has somehow singlehandedly dismantled Al Queda. And the lion has laid down with the lamb; Sunni and Shia are in a lovefest. Or maybe its that the neocon agenda will eventually pacify the world because it will one day be one big empire, with nobody daring to fart lest they be tortured, and Petraeus is the current poster boy for the wars of choice that will bring that Pax Bushana.

sheeeesh

alternative universe, anyone?

3. David Brooks said it straight faced on PBS last night! Then did his smirk.
So it is not just a DU thing. Brooks seemed to enjoy pulling the leg of the moderator and his co-commentator, liberal E.J. Dionne.
