Both Gandhi and Dr. King died, standing up for their principles regarding the issues of peace, justice and non-violence.

They've always been my heroes, even when I wore a military uniform.

So, in response to the threads regarding the unjust treatment by law enforcement personnel against the citizenry, I remind you all that when the people rose up together and fought injustice non-violently, they achieved the most striking results and created a legacy that outlived all other tactics.

Organization and non-violent mass action is definitely needed today.

I'm more eye for an eye when it comes to dealing with these assholes. I haven't been in an actual fist fight over politics since the vietnam days but I've sure had some loud arguments especially in the past few years and especially at family holiday gatherings. I'm sort of the family patriarch now so I'm usually able to shut 'em up, but in reality I think I'd be happier if I could reason with them. I should realize it's impossible to win an argument with a dumshit.

I've always envied and admired people who could remain calm in the presence of sheer stupidity.
