America is Fighting With Itself...but's it's really about our Political System...
Edited on Wed Oct-10-07 06:09 PM by KoKo01
We aren't the "America" of our History Books...We aren't the America of our Dreams....we are something that has Morphed and it's been going on since our founding.

Where we are TODAY is in CRISIS! Repugs and Dems Fighting...Libertarians and others who want less Government seeing this as Their MOMENT to seize the moment ...and many of us caught in the "cross-fire."

Without a Media that's Vibrant and shows ALL THE SIDES in this battle and allows discussion...we are faced with tough choices between all the bombs being thrown at us.

We are in a CRISIS! There's a world economy banging down our sovereign doors forcing us to be GLOBAL because we have so many foreign entities who've bought out Treasury Bonds to bail us out after "9/11" and those folks are going to demand repayment...whether it's buying up the last of our fragile US Businesses or paying the Bush's/Reagan/Clinton/ off for what they did to try to keep the Average American from "Feeling the Pain" of all the Cold War Debt and Vietnam Spending. Put those two together and ad the Iraq Spending and you have a BIG MESS.

How can we get out of this...and still keep diversity by allowing new immigrants and some trade when so much depends on our Economy that's been STRIPPED?

Any Thoughts? We've got the Libertarians, Globalists, Dems, Repugs and whatever else one can through in there going at each other at this time of crisis not seen since America's "Civil War" in the mid 1800's, in my opinion. This time it's an Economic War which is tearing us apart.

It's all about the bleeding of our Treasury/Taxes on Americans for Wars that we don't support/Globalists who want "One World Government" and a huge Religious "THING" that never could understand what it was all about ...and supported the WRONG PEOPLE...ALWAYS...down through History.

We are on a Crash Cart RIDE .....with our Environment and World Economics that is starting to come to a Crossroads. Without a "Balanced/Equal Time Media" ...HOW can we NAVIGATE THROUGH THIS?

1. Joe Kennedy "When the going gets tough, the tough get going."
I believe in the American Spirit. When needed and called upon, Americans are tenacious! It must be in our DNA 'er something. We bend but not break. I do feel that the environmental challenges we face, on a global scale, outweigh any financial instability.

The trick is finding a leader who recognizes the challenge, and can guide us responsibly

4. I recommend several constitutional amendments.
1. Abolish the Electoral College for presidential elections. Popular vote shall determine the office winner. If more than two candidates are running for the office of president and no one wins a majority of the vote, a run-off will be triggered between the top two candidates.

2. All states will be required to apportion their seats in the US House of Representatives according to proportional representation. Political parties that wish to run in federal elections must hold party caucuses to draw up slates of representatives to assume seats won.

3. Federal elections will be publicly funded. The Supreme Court interpretation that donating money to political campaigns is protected by the 1st Amendment shall be overturned. We could follow this model: http://caclean.org/materials/watch.php

4. If there are more than two candidates running for a US Senate seat and no candidate wins a majority of the vote, then a run-off election will be mandated between the top two candidates.
