Mild prediction on kurds, turkey and war with Iran...
It's been well known that turkey has been shelling the kurds, but not so well know is that the Iranians have been doing the same thing to the kurds.

everyone thinks that Israel will be the one to instigate a war with Iran/Syria, etc.

Nope. I always thought that would be the most stupid obvious move ever.

It will be Turkey. They invade the Kurds, we stand by with our thumbs up our butts and condemn the action, however, suddenly reports come in that the Iranians (actually working in conjunction with Turkey and are also shelling the Kurds) are shelling Turkish positions. Under the guise of helping the Kurds. Even thought the Iranians don't care for the Kurds as much as Turkey.

moron* and his room full of dopes get all high horsed and say they can't stand by and let this happen. In the mean time, something is worked out between the Turks and the Kurds aka oil money, pipeline, territory, etc. But there will be no talking with the Iranians, no no no, because you know, they have been labeled a rogue state. And moron* will bleat on and on about how he* has tried so hard to work with them diplomatically, but that time has now passed. blah blah blah.

This solves several issues for moron* 1) he* gets to start a war with Iran without actually starting one 2) moron* gets to enact Nato Protocol since Turkey is a member. 3) he* doesn't have to deal with the UN. 4) he* can give a mildly coherent speech about how we have to help our "allies" (be prepared for him to be dressed as his favorite action hero for this: I'm thinking rambo) 5) he* forces Iran to start trading oil in U.S. dollars again. (that's what this is all about anyway)

I'm not standing by this prediction, just more of an interesting arm chair world domination quarterback observation.

1. Interesting. The Turks attacking the Kurds is a done deal - as is us attacking Iran.
No love lost here for the Turks; I worked for four summers in the '70s as a summer camp counselor for Armenian-heritage kids, and their stories of the slaughter of their grandparents and great-aunts and uncles etc. were terrifying. Can't trust a country that won't come clean about its actions (we do that for the U.S. here on DU), so your speculation is legit. By the way, it was genocide, period.

2. Oh of course it was genocide. never a doubt in my mind.
rice needs to get a clue but then again she has always been in dire need of a clue.

it's a sad state of affairs when genocide can't be called out in fear of offending someone, when there is more than enough proof.

peace always.

3. Quite an "arm chair world domination" speculation.
Cheney has to get real creative to advance PNAC because eyes are on alternatives involving Syria, Israel and Iran.

Yours is simply another possibility.
