I'm in a blue funk these days, help me get my hope back, folks.
I was happy when Democrats won control of both houses of Congress but my happiness has turned to outrage as I see them again and again quiver in terror of Republican attack ads and bow to the wishes of Bush and his Republican allies who have got us into the very messes that the Democrats were elected to get us out of.

I was thrilled that the Democrats had a field of candidates that I could be proud of--although I had issues with--them. I am less thrilled with my choices now. Do I vote for the underqualified guy with the silver tongue who was right on the war but not where I am on domestic issues, the underqualified guy with the silver tongue who was wrong on the war but is where I am on domestic issues? Do I vote for the underqualified guy who echoes my position on both the war and domestic issues but who hasn't a snowballs chance in hell of winning the general election? Do I vote for experienced guy who seems to have his foot permanently implanted in his mouth? Do I just vow to the inevitable and learn to love Hillary even though she was wrong on the war, is wrong on Iran and seems to be a Democrat that big business can love?

I believe that global warming is a serious problem that must be dealt with if civilization is to survive but lying on the beach, in my bathing suit, in Sandy Hook New Jersey in October no less, I couldn't help but think, maybe this global warming thing isn't so bad.

Forgive me Al Gore. I didn't mean it, really.

2. Listen to Thom Hartman any chance you can...
He is so smart and so positive while explaining things I am totally clueless about. He says things about Hillary that make me feel like it will be ok if she gets the nomination. He is not with her on many issues but thinks that we can sway the way she governs. We the people. I think he is right.

Seriously, listen to him. He is great!

And I am holding out for Gore!

3. These choices you state in your post ARE difficult ones to make.

I was sold on HRC until I started thinking about her votes on various subjects. I then shifted away
from her but then thought.."Ummm..Maybe she's just "Playing the Game" to get Elected and THEN start doing the right thing"

I don't know...Who can know ??

Having said that, I also like Edwards and of course, Dennis...

It's rough doing the right thing when you don't know what's truly going on in people's minds.

We all love you though and don't like to see ANY DU'er...sad.. :)

4. I wish I had some specifics of why you should perk up, but
for the last four years, I log on to find out if he is being impeached yet? Hows that for needing a dose of cheer? The environment is a hard one. We need to get around in individual cars, and paint our lawns with chemicals, and eat poisoned food. Sorry I was hoping to find something to cheer you up with. Our elected folks, are comfortable. I'll stop rambling, because I can't find anything but misery to share.

5. The problem with losing the coastal region to global warming is what
would be left - bumfuck fly-over country.

Not a pleasant thought.
