Poll question: ROUND 4--Who do you NOT want to see get the Democratic nomination?
I'm starting round 4 early because of the landslide:

RECAP: Hillary Clinton was eliminated with a solid majority in round 1--61%---Dennis Kucinich was eliminated with a plurality of 33% in round 2.

Now, in Round 3, with a majority of 53% of the votes, and no one else getting more than 15%, Mike Gravel is eliminated.

ON TO ROUND 4--Again, a reminder: I'm going to post a poll asking you to vote for the person you LEAST desire to get the Democratic nomination for POTUS. The winner (who will actually be the loser) will be dropped from the list, and I'll post another poll with that candidate's name removed. I will repeat the process, until, by elimination, one candidate is "chosen" by those participating.

Remember vote for the one you DON'T want to get the nomination. I'd appreciate if you will keep this kicked. I'm doing an experiment. The candidates are presented in alphabetical order.

Of those remaining who do you want to eliminate from getting the nomination? Again, in alphabetical order:

4. still voting for Richardson because I think he would be a shoo-in in Senate race
and we could use enough good democatic senators so we can tell Lieberman to go to hell.

7. Well, telling Lieberman that would be a great reason to
take a greater majority in the Senate. :D

6. Since I already voted for Biden in round 3, I have to abstain
I could be happy with any of the remaining candidates.

10. Fascinating idea
And probably the closest match to how candidates are actually chosen i.e. the nomination goes not to the best but to the least objectionable. The result is that virtually every candidate is, to some extent, a compromise candidate. Not sure how Kucinich got knocked out so early since most of us seem to agree with him on most things but never mind.

I pick Obama this time. Not because he's bad but because he's not ready yet. In eight years, he'll probably be ready and he'd make an absolutely perfect VP choice (thus giving him that experiance and grooming him for the Presidency) but, not just yet.

I'll also predict Edwards emerges as the eventual winner. His policies are reasonable enough but mainly, he's just the least objectionable.

14. Kucinich got knocked out in rd. 2
because everyone thinks he is not electable, so they don't want him to get the nomination.

17. Keep in mind that it was a plurality that voted him out, not a majority...
There were a lot of split votes in that round. Perhaps he was just viewed a bit too negatively by some, but not that negatively by many others who split their votes amongst the rest.

quite the same as yours. I don't think we will choose the least objectionable. I'm going to make my explanation after all the rounds are complete.

around 100 votes. Let's see how many more vote in the next few minutes.

21. I see the Edwards team has organized.
I wish I could believe that he would run a government as well as his internet supporters handle online polls.

Sadly, I don't see any evidence of that at all.
