Michelle "Wingnut Pyscho Hypocrite" Malkin stalks 12-yr-old Graeme Frost's family

Profiles in Class

By: John Cole October 8, 2007 at 4:27 pm

Michelle Malkin, incensed by the presence of the children engaging in SCHIP advocacy, has now gone the extra mile (http: //michellemalkin.com/2007/10/08/graeme-frost-and-the-perils-of-democrat-poster-child-abuse):

Update 2:50pm Eastern: I just returned from a visit to Frost’s commercial property near Patterson Park in Baltimore. It’s a modest place. Talked to one of the tenants, Mike Reilly, who is a talented welder. He said he had known the Frosts for 10 years. Business is good, he told me, though he characterized Frost as “struggling.” Reilly was an outspoken advocate for socialized health care without any means-testing whatsoever and an insistent critic of the Iraq war. Despite all that, he did agree with me that going without health insurance is often a matter of choice and a matter of priorities. Or maybe we were speaking two different languages.

I also passed by the Frosts’ rowhouse. There was an “01 – 20 -09″ bumper sticker plastered on the door and a newer model GMC Suburban parked directly in front of the house. I’ve seen guesstimates of the house’s worth in the $400,000 plus range. Those are high.

14. My brother lives in Maryland and says the republicans are
starting to stalk this child. They keep calling the house and asking how much salary do they make etc,. He said it is disgusting.

These are the type of people they are. The are lewd, low class, crooked and have no character. It is a shame that the right wing hate spewers have all the news time and sites so they can spread this vileness. But then remember...the media is LIBERAL.

I know I'm a rotten person, because I want to go completely postal on all the freepers and facists like Malkin who DARE harm this child. I am capable of the worst, I guess. I fucking HATE these people, and that makes me no better than them. You mess with a child with a conscience, and you are committing a grievous sin as far as I'm concerned. God help these fuckers.

Well, as long as she's dealing in hard facts, you can't argue with that.

I've seen estimates that Malkin's worth as a human being is zero. I don't dabble in 'guesstimates'.

27. The estimate may not be far off, however, how much they paid for the house
is much more relevant. I couldn't buy my house today in today's housing market. They probably couldn't either.

Having said that, that the RWers are stalking this kid and this family is disgusting!

37. Same here.
Could never afford my house at today's prices.

What struck about the 'guesstimate' comment is that it is typical of the RW types - 'guess' at something, and then present it as a fact.

That house might be worth $400,000 -- then again, it might be worth half that amount. A five-minute search on a real estate website for that area could have determined its exact worth - but actually coming up with facts to back up assertions is something people like Malkin are totally incapable of.

16. Oh there is so much more ..........
How pathetic can they be! It's sad really, that in their desperation they would harass these children and their parents.

Check out this story from ABC

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2007/10/dems-poster-chi.html

According to Senate Democratic aides, some bloggers have made repeated phone calls to the home of 12-year-old Graeme Frost, demanding information about his family's private life. On Monday, a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid accused GOP leadership aides of "pushing falsehood" in an effort to distract from the political battle over S-CHIP.

"This is a perverse distraction from the issue at hand," said Jim Manley, a spokesman for Reid, D-Nev. "Instead of debating the merits of providing health care to children, some in GOP leadership and their right-wing friends would rather attack a 12-year-old boy and his sister who were in a horrific car accident."

Manley cited an e-mail sent to reporters by a Senate Republican leadership aide, summing up recent blog traffic about the boy's family. A spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., declined to comment on Manley's charge that GOP aides were complicit in spreading disparaging information about Frosts.

In making the case for a proposed expansion of the S-CHIP program, Democrats found a boy who seemed like an ideal poster child in Graeme Frost, a Baltimore native whose family does not have private health insurance.

When Graeme and his sister were seriously injured in a 2004 car crash, their parents relied on S-CHIP coverage to help them recover. After House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office became aware of the Frosts through a healthcare interest group, FamiliesUSA, Democratic leaders turned to Graeme to deliver the party's weekly radio address Sept. 29.

snip>>>>

A blogger on FreeRepublic.com discovered that Frost and his sister, Gemma, attend a private school where tuition costs $20,000 a year. Their father, Halsey, is a self-employed woodworker, meaning that if his family doesn’t have health insurance, it’s because Halsey Frost -- as his own boss -- chooses not to purchase it for himself.

"One has to wonder that if time and money can be found to remodel a home, send kids to exclusive private schools, purchase commercial property and run your own business . . . maybe money can be found for other things," a blogger with the handle "icwhatudo" wrote on FreeRepublic.

That posting was widely circulated in the blogosphere, making great fodder for conservatives who argue that President Bush was right to veto the Democrats’ bill expanding S-CHIP.

"People make choices and it's clear the Frosts have made choice to invest in property and a business, but not in private health insurance," Mark Tapscott, editorial page editor of The Washington Examiner, wrote on his blog.

But Manley say conservative bloggers didn't dig deep enough. It turns out that the Frost children attend Baltimore’s Park School on near-full scholarships; they pay roughly $500 per child per year in tuition, he said.

Like many small-business owners, Halsey Frost can't even afford to provide health insurance to himself, Manley said.

"Last year, the Frost's made $45,000 combined," Manley said. "Over the past few years they have made no more than $50,000 combined depending on Halsey's ability to find work."

The Frost family did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

21. Here is Mark Tapscott's column.
"Put otherwise, you had to have a healthy skepticism about everything you were told by politicians, office-holders and public policy advocates across the entire political spectrum. But I see less and less of that kind of healthy skepticism among journalists when it comes to claims and conduct by Democrats and liberal activists.

Increasingly, getting the whole story about an issue in public policy these days starts with the Blogosphere because to a growing extent that is where you find educated skepticism and a willingness to dig for the facts.

I tell attendees at the outset of the Database 101 Computer-Assisted Research and Reporting (CARR) Boot Camps I teach at the National Press Club that I dream of the day when "let me see your dataset" is the first thing all journalists will say when a politician or advocate claims something based on a data-driven study."

http://www.examiner.com/blogs/tapscotts_copy_desk/2007/10/7/Dems-Potemkin-SCHIP-kid-exposed-in-Blogosphere-Where-was-the-MSM

Oh, the irony! At least he got that middle paragraph correct. And this guy peddles his oh so rational sounding bullshit at the National Press Club! No wonder their stock has gone down. His bio also says he is "a visiting journalism fellow at The Heritage Foundation think tank." Why are they presented as a credible voice again? You can leave a (polite) comment telling how you feel. I did. This is getting play in the whacked out world of cons, but I'm sure when faced with the facts they will issue a correction and apology. Won't they?

These women can not get love in any ordinary way, so they whine and shriek and moan and act like she-devils to get attention from the general public and the approbation of daddy figures on the right wing. If you ignore them, they will act out in increasingly violent and extreme ways until even the right wing will disavow them.

24. She has a nasty habit of invading privacy.
You can read the whole sordid mess here:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/4/18/111035/859

"After receiving death threats from these 101st Fighting Keyboarders, the SAW students politely asked Malkin to remove the contact information from her site. Malkin refused. Indeed, she republished the contact info. And this is where her actions turn from mean-spirited to downright sick."

Basically, a group of not too media-savvy students sent her an email including their contact info. She then published the info on her web site, knowing full well her audience is full of Timothy McVeigh hair trigger nutjobs. When the inevitable happened and the group asked her to remove it, she not only didn't take down the info, but prominently republished it.

This is the sick fuck that is a fill in host for Bill O'Lielly. She says she's proud of being called an 'Asian Ann Coulter', because she likes Ann Coulter, oh, but according to her, she's 'not Asian, she's an American'!

These creeps will stoop to any level to make the case for their twisted POV.

That said, this wasn't the best battle to choose to lead off a campaign for health care reform. Trying to lead with a non-means tested health care benefit has left them vulnerable to attack, and they should have known this from the beginning.

They could have chosen a number of other categories of desperate uninsured to cover, e.g. people with cancer. It would have been much easier to make the case publicly, but Dems felt the price tag for providing coverage was too high.

38. Wow she was really convincing?
Who reads her crap? Why do people like this have jobs that allow their opinions to spread to countless Americans? She's not a good writer, reporter (guestimates?) and worse she is almost always wrong? Why isn't accuracy part of what keeps or loses you gigs in the op ed world? Yet people like her have platforms that allow their opinions to be voiced. Their not even really their opinions but talking points not sent to the author. Basically conservative op ed writers have become name plates on an ad for other peoples products. If the daily talking point memo's talked about turning sick little kids into dog food we'd all be reading and hearing countless advocates about this as a good idea. Actually one wonders why the RNC computers haven’t been hacked and a phony talking points memo sent out just for the humor that would result. We don’t respect Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, Malkin and the like because they don’t even have the self respect to actually think for themselves.
