I'm sure it has been discussed here, but I have been out of town with no computer. I just heard that XM is picking up ED SCHULZ in place of Al Franken instead of Thom Hartmann who will be the AAR replacement for Al.

I am sick. Why would anybody not carry Thom when they carry some of the other AAR hosts who are nowhere near the great show that Thom is? He's the BEST and XM puts on Ed Schulz???? He must be paying XM to carry him.

What is anyone doing to protest?

Ed, on the other hand, would rather say that Sudan doesn't have any oil, that people want to talk about football on a political show or that he's actually the "progressive leader" that everyone looks up to...

I only listen to Rachel Maddow from AAR -- get most of my radio from KPFA now (KPFA.org) which is great for me because they're local.

I found that listening to more than one AAR show was like watching CNN headline news. Too much rehashing and no culture.

7. Are you upset enough to ditch XM

I cant decide if I'm gonna ditch them. I really dont feel like buying a new radio and starting a new service.
Someone saud that the reason XM didn't get Thom is that he is on Sirius, but Thom's shows are rerun on the weekend on XM.
Right now I have to stream or podcast the shows that I want to hear.
XM is slowly losing the battle.

Who on XM's version of AAR do you like?

Seder in the Morning- eh, sometimes
Ed- nope
Randi- sure
Maddow- eh, sometimes
Politically Direct- not so much, kinda dull
Eco Talk- puts me to sleep
RadioNation- sure, I dig English accents (that's another issue)

The weekend shows are lost on me.

Thom is good most of the time
Malloy is soothing right before bedtime.

listened to some show that Hartmann was on. She called to ask if I knew of him & told me she thought he was "very reasonable" -- high praise coming from her! She commented she would like to hear him again. :wow:
