If you've listened to any Libby tapes.....
I have to admit, the tapes make great napping background
noise, but I did manage to hear some of them on C-Span (which
still hasn't gotten their link to the tapes working right).

You will hear him describe in detail the actions surrounding
the declassification of the NIE. He remembered the sequence
of events, when and what he talked about with Judith Miller,
etc., etc.

It made me immediately wonder, and hope, if Fitzgerald was
pressing the issue so that he could, in summation, compare
Libby's ability to remember finite detail on the NIE with
his total loss of memory with regard to who told him about
Plame???

1. I think Libby defense is going to put a coworker on stand today
to talk about how much was on Libby's plate to explain why he couldn't remember.

I have a fantasy about Fitz asking this man, can he remember which national security information he himself revealed to reporters in mid-2003? A takeoff on the have you stopped beating your wife schtick.

3. That's the conventional wisdom.....
They've played his grand jury testimony and he contradicts all 6 prosecution witnesses that remember things differently. From the tone of his voice on tape, he's a scared dweeb. If he goes on the stand, he'll have to defend his version against withering cross-examination.

That's what you get when caught telling a lie.

So let this be a lesson to all young repugs out there. Don't get caught because we KNOW you're going to lie!
