Bush Admin Slip: Says messing with Blackwater would mess with National Security
The House passed a bill Thursday that would make all private contractors working in Iraq and other combat zones subject to prosecution by U.S. courts. It was the first major legislation of its kind to pass since a deadly shootout last month involving Blackwater employees.

n a statement issued Wednesday, the White House said the bill would have "unintended and intolerable consequences for crucial and necessary national security activities and operations." The statement did not explain further or give examples on how the bill would affect national security.

The White House referred questions to the Justice Department, which declined to comment.

1. That's a bit more sinister than a "slip."
That almost sounds as if they came about an inch from admitting that there is now an extraconstitutional militia operating at the discretion of General Bush.

7. if they're getting paid 500 bucks a day they want to be there
We should demand that our soldiers get equal pay to whatever BW is making. Its our taxes paying for both.

4. So what makes Blackwater essential to National Security
I thought our military was supposed to protect us. Is Blackwater responsible for protecting bush and his bunch of monsters is that it. How come a private contractor (can't we say what they are mercenaries) is so important they need the support and cover up of the president.

10. I truly believe Bush* thinks he IS America
Edited on Thu Oct-04-07 04:38 PM by Toots
When he says "National Security" he means his own security. He and all his deciples believe he is the government and America itself. When you badmouth Bush* you are actually badmouthing America. They believe that crap and Bush* is beginning to believe it as well.
