Clyburn and Spratt must condemn Democrat bully and his dangerous war tax
Dawson calls Democrat plan disgraceful, dangerous

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The South Carolina Republican Party today called on Jim Clyburn and John Spratt to condemn the disgraceful and dangerous tactics of their colleague, U.S. House of Representatives Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey, who threatened to raise taxes by as much as 15 percent unless President Bush begins a precipitous withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq. (Associated Press, 10/2/2007).

"Democrats in Congress are trying to bully hardworking Americans into supporting surrender in Iraq by threatening to implement a war tax on the middle class, and their timing couldn't be worse," said South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Katon Dawson. "Yesterday, the Iraqi government released data showing violence has been cut in half in Iraq because our brave men and women in uniform have made real progress toward winning the war on terror. Instead of congratulating General David Petraeus and our troops, Democrats are proposing a new tax aimed at undercutting the mission for which our soldiers fight and die."

"I call on Jim Clyburn and John Spratt to condemn these dangerous tactics by their liberal colleague and affirm their support for our men and women in uniform."

2. Hell we don't need to fund no stinking war, we just need to display magnets
Deficits don't matter, ray-gun proved it. Fuck all this nonsense about paying for stuff. This obey guy certainly don't have no by gawd conservative values. Fuck the debt, we are already planning on blaming it on the demnocrat President in 2009.

3. If they can't spell right, they don't deserve a response.
Obey is not a member of this "Democrat" party, so they must be talking about someone else.

5. Make the war tax applicable to the top 1 percent of income earners. Problem solved.
Then see them try to get by with "middle class."

9. I have a better idea
Why not just get some adults elected? People who may actually give a damn about what their constituency wants and acts accordingly? How about a resolution that there be less worry about moveon and limbaugh and condemning other lawmakers and more worry about trying to do something for the betterment of the country? Enough already!
