1. I doubt it.
If you're convinced, quit watching him.

3. Doesn't Schieffer have a friendship with Donald Rumsfeld?

That can't appear too good.

Yes but you appear stuck with your fright winger family. Apparently Schieffer sought Rumsfeld out as a friend.

Who would want to befriend someone who sent soldiers to kill about a million innocent people in an invasion?

Eva Braun did and She married him too.

22. Sy Hersh 'The President Has Accepted Ethnic Cleansing' America's Hitler,

INTERVIEW WITH INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST SEYMOUR HERSH
'The President Has Accepted Ethnic Cleansing'

Investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has consistently led the way in telling the story of what's really going on in Iraq and Iran. SPIEGEL ONLINE spoke to him about America's Hitler, Bush's Vietnam, and how the US press failed the First Amendment.

..........................

SPIEGEL ONLINE: .......How much does the West really know about the nuclear program in Iran?

Seymour Hersh: A lot. And it's been underestimated how much the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) knows. If you follow what (IAEA head Mohamed) ElBaradei (more...) and the various reports have been saying, the Iranians have claimed to be enriching uranium to higher than a 4 percent purity, which is the amount you need to run a peaceful nuclear reactor. But the IAEA's best guess is that they are at 3.67 percent or something. The Iranians are not even doing what they claim to be doing. The IAEA has been saying all along that they've been making progress but basically, Iran is nowhere. Of course the US and Israel are going to say you have to look at the worst case scenario, but there isn't enough evidence to justify a bombing raid.

.............

SPIEGEL ONLINE: So what are the options in Iraq?

SEYMOUR HERSH: There are two very clear options:

Option A) Get everybody out by midnight tonight.

Option B) Get everybody out by midnight tomorrow.

The fuel that keeps the war going is us.

..................

SPIEGEL ONLINE:So what are the lessons of the Surge (more...)?

SEYMOUR HERSH: The Surge means basically that, in some way, the president has accepted ethnic cleansing, whether he's talking about it or not. When he first announced the Surge in January, he described it as a way to bring the parties together. He's not saying that any more. I think he now understands that ethnic cleansing is what is going to happen. You're going to have a Kurdistan. You're going to have a Sunni area that we're going to have to support forever. And you're going to have the Shiites in the South.

The "solid" part eliminates a lot of pretenders, but I think Schieffer's ok.

13. Hersh is an investigative journalist. It is his job to turn over the rocks to find scorpions.
He does it well.

Schieffer's job is totally different. Part of his job is to give face time to people of national interest. He asks questions, allows his subject to answer, and follows up. It is not within his role to tell someone that they are lying or that they are not convincing.

The difference between the two is hardly subtle.

18. Ok. Did you know that I am good friends with dozens of Republicans?
I have been in a meeting in which Sam Brownback provided help to a project of mine? I have a history of financial relationships with big industry?

And yet ... here I am posting at DU. I think Brownback is dangerous, I think many industries get away with immoral acts, and I cannot see a time when I will ever support a GOP candidate.

Sorry, but I don't believe in guilt by association.

Columnist Criticizes Media for Iran-Related Commentary

By E&P Staff

Published: September 27, 2007 12:55 PM ET

NEW YORK Tribune Media Services (TMS) columnist Robert C. Koehler today criticized the New York Daily News and other media outlets for content that may help pave the way for a war with Iran.

Koehler's Sept. 27 column specifically referred to a Sept. 20 Daily News editorial telling Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to "go to hell" after the Iranian President asked to visit Ground Zero.

"With Iran in Dick Cheney's crosshairs, the Daily News and other members of the media pile-on crowd descend to a level of moral repugnance that must not go uncensured," Koehler wrote. "By exalting Ahmadinejad as the new face of evil, replacing Saddam, they once again summon forth the reptile-brain emotions of the American public and justify whatever is to come, even nuclear war. "

The columnist added: "And the pretext for doing this is America's 'hallowed landmark,' Ground Zero, the spot where the Towers fell and thousands died -- a spot so sacred, so respected by ... well, the current administration, for instance, that George Bush kicked off his 2004 re-election campaign by hauling out footage of the horror...."

Koehler further noted that "after damning Ahmadinejad to hell," the Daily News "had no room left to write about the unfolding Blackwater scandal and the indiscriminate firing by lawless mercenaries on Iraqi citizens....

"Gone, vanished, also were the hideous memories and images of Abu Ghraib ... and the war crimes and sheer slaughter (hundreds of thousands dead) ... and the EPA's false, post-9/11 all-clear that allowed Wall Street to reopen in asbestos-rife air and embarrassing memories of the lack of adequate protective gear for the rescue workers, some of whom -- as documented by Michael Moore -- can't get health coverage today to deal with their respiratory afflictions."

Koehler concluded: "The exploitation of the tragedy of 9/11 has led this country down a dark road. Allowing an 'enemy' to lay a wreath at Ground Zero might signal the way back."

15. Rather's pursuit of the Bush's time in TANG was unnecessary.
He was convinced he had a smoking gun, but it was the same smoking gun others had previously observed. His obsession screwed the story, screwed himself, and let Bush off the hook. Now, Rather is trying to change his history by blaming someone else.

No way.
