We have some senators, for example, who have a lot of power as it is but want more. We have reps (DK as an example) who also want to be prez.
Why do they want the job? Is it because they want to serve you and me? It is, after all, supposed to be a position of servitude to the public.
I see people running, on both sides, and I wonder - why are they running? Is there something in it for them or are they really running to represent me and the people?
I know that running is hard for anyone involved, it can be damned brutal. So why run when you already have more power than most Americans in the process?
Hillary, for example, has been first lady for 8 years and a senator since then. Obama has a lot of power and went from being in the state of Illinois to being a senator. Are they (and others) running for the highest office because they think they can serve me better, or is there something personal in it for them?
maybe I am being cynical, but I find myself asking 'why' some folks are running when they already have so much power.
