3. I was surprised to see the name so fast

the policy is to wait 24 hours AFTER next-of-kin notifications. There is nothing in online papers yet. I actually wondered if they slipped up in posting the name. Have you seen anything locally, or was this the first you saw of it?

8. Something's not right with the timing of all this

Our principal, who coached this young man in football in high school, announced it today at our faculty meeting (and left in tears). He said he was notified Friday about his death. The pastor of the family's church announced it at service Sunday AM.

I heard it on the 11 PM news last night. Today's report:

sometimes the dates are wrong - the DoD press releases occasionally include corrections/clarifications. One listed yesterday as "friendly fire" is listed today as an IED. One was posted today with a date of Feb 9 - I expect the date of 2/11 listed for Sgt Kurtz is just a typo.

To all - watch the video on the newspaper link. As I said in another thread a day or so ago - they are ALL our kids.

there are many many sites, many with sort and filter functions and so on, many with political statements.

I just want to get the names and pictures on my tribute page as fast as possible, read about them, and pay silent tribute. It was only through doing this that I learned about the funeral in my hometown this weekend, and had the honor of joining the Patriot Guard Riders and holding a flag for an hour or so. I did so in honor not just of Kevin Landeck, but of all of them. I encourage everyone to do the same if presented with the unfortunate opportunity. You will be glad you did.

I can't think of a punishment in hell bad enough for the people(I use that term loosely) that caused all this pain-both here and abroad. IMPEACH, CONVICT, REMOVE FROM OFFICE, THEN TRY THEM FOR WAR CRIMES. There should be an individual charge of murder for every single person that has died for their policies.
