Hillary will probably be the next president
But she is not a liberal. Far from it.

Perhaps it's only practical that things move slowly, but let's not kid ourselves here. A Hillary presidency will move the country from the far right to the not so far right. It is a long way to go before America gets to the center, and even longer before she moves to the left.

When somebody like Dennis Kucinich is capable of winning an election despite the corporately controlled mainstream media, that will be the day that the United States of America becomes the country we all want it to be.

A country with a universal health care system.

A country that doesn't put almost all its tax dollars into guns and bombs and tanks and fighter jets.

A country that works with the rest of the world instead of destroying certain parts of it for monetary gain.

A country that takes care of its people, especially its poor, its most vulnerable.

A country that cares about the environment, and works towards a solution to global warming.

A country where the majority of the people are educated, enlightened, and informed.

A country that gives everyone equal rights, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation.

A country that embraces reason, logic, and rationality, instead of superstition, ritual, ignorance, division, and hate.

A country that the rest of the world envies.

Will it happen in this lifetime?

6. The RWing & it's Corp. Media want Hillary as the Candidate.
Until she wins two primaries it is not a done deal. She can lose with a few mis-steps. The front runner is the one with the most vulnerable position. She stumbled quite a bit at the last debate. Her phony laugh if she continues with it could be the little thing that could turn people off. Sometimes it is the small things that do someone in. The RWing & the Corp. Media a promoting her now but if she wins the nomination they will exploit that laugh, as they did the "Dean scream".

5. a big part of my dislike for hillary comes from bill's new bff-type relationship with poppy bush...
i just don't trust any of them to look out for anyone's interests but their own.

and it even sorta puts all those mena arkansas cia drug smuggling stories in a new light...

and makes me wonder if we haven't been playing along to ghwb's script since 1980, at least- with hillary being next in line to front for him.

7. There are plenty of countries that are closer to the mark...
and/or moving in the right direction. Just read a Naomi Wolf interview, and it's probably wise to start planning an exit strategy.

8. Thats a country I would want to live in.
Unfortunately our current situation is so perilous that this election is really about our survival. Running to Liberal of a candidate at this point is a risk not worth taking. Because she is more right than some candidates my help her win. She would be a better prospect for leading us to a more peaceful world society than any of the republicans.

9. Crawl, Walk, Run, Fly
So many have been disapointed by the lack of progress on key liberal and progressive issues by the Democrats, but maybe a little perspective is needed.

Many may remember the dark days following the frustrating '02 and '04 elections. The Democratic party was as far on its heels as it had been since the 20s. Pundits were calling for the party's demise and had this regime been a bit more competent and Mark Foley not had a Blackberry, there could have been a veto proof Repugnican Senate and House. Thank goodness we stepped away from that abyss, but there's far more to go.

The Democratic party is in a period of change and revitalization...something I haven't seen since the early 70's. There are new voices that are being heard, people emerging across the country (thanks to Dr. Dean's 50-state strategy) and our voices are no longer in the wilderness. But this is a long road...and one many of us leads to lasting and enduring change...and the creation of the atmosphere to focus on our long-term and common goals...and to do so as a solid majority. We're not there yet.

The problem any President coming in on 1-20-09 is going to have is cleaning up all the messes this regime has left behind. Everywhere you look there's a clusterfuck...Iraq, the economy, justice system, health care system, infrastructure...and those are just appetizers. This election promises to be bitter and divisive and whomever wins won't have free reign to move mountains...but it will change the tone for things to come.

I look forward to the primary votes to see how millions of other Democrats feel...as united we win, divided we open the door to the next Repugnican clusterfuck and close a window on our own opportunities.

Cheers...

10. Right... you do remember that Dean had the same buzz in '03....
First its too early to tell... Hillary doesn't even have the nod yet. Second, if she gets the nod, it will bring every Clinton hating cretin out of the woodwork and she will not be elected. Finally, she has been "ordained" by the MSM - that alone should speak volumes about her chances.

17. I have no idea how old you are but it might happen in your
lifetime if you stop thinking negatively. I keep visualizing Dennis Kucinich and Elizabeth in the White House every day. It helps that I saw them in person on Saturday, so I have a better flesh and blood visual than just a photograph in my mind. Try it. It can't hurt. Just think of Dennis and Elizabeth in front of the WH; Dennis in the Oval Office; Dennis in the Rose Garden; Elizabeth hosting tea. Just do it. Keep Hillary's image away from the White House. Concentrate on Dennis and Elizabeth.
