My son met Al Gore today!...

My son does locations work in NYC. Right now he is working on 'Gossip Girl', and it is filmed in the same studio as '30 Rock'. He walked into the studio this afternoon and there stood Al Gore (he's doing a guest appearance on '30 Rock, my son was so shocked to see him!. He said Al Gore spoke to him, so my son shook his hand and thanked him for all the good work he has done. My son has met lots of famous people, but he was thrilled to meet VP/President Gore.
What is ironic, my oldest son was in Jackson Hole,WY, twelve years ago with three of his friends (they had all just turned 21 and camped from PA to Jackson Hole). Anyway, some Secret Service men approached them on the street and said if you would like to meet President Clinton, just stand here for a few seconds. President Clinton shook there hands and had a brief conversation with them. How lucky are these guys?!

3. I got a chance to me the big Dick once

He was coming to Vermont a few weeks after the selection to tell Vermonters how great the fishing is.
No thanks to him and his oil spilling river polluting buddies.
Anyhow, I used to work for the local theater outfit and we'd set up stages for conferences, conventions etc.
They held the bullshitting session at the airport because he couldnt be bothered actually seeing Vermont be such a busy guy and all, so off to the airport I go.
After setting up the lights, sound system etc. the crew was invited to stay and watch the speech.
Out of crew of 15 guys only three of us stayed. I had planned on booing his ass the entire time but I got a good look at his S.S. guys and decided I didnt want to get my ass kicked that day.
Anyhow, after the speech he steps behind the curtains and his assistant ask's us if we would like to meet the vice president and shake his hand?

He was standing no more than ten feet from us looking at us like we were gonna go all limp and dreamy eyed and I just turned and said " naw, thats ok, we've got a job to do. Are you through here?"
He pursed his lips and walked away. Fuck him.

My mom met George W back in the early 90's. Someone came up to her, and said "wanna meet (then) President Bush's son?"My mom remembers how truly small he was (both physically and metaphorically), and that he mumbled something like "hello." My mom wasn't impressed with him then, nor now. She still calls him "a little man."
