Congressional and Clinton/Obama apologists...
Now that the 'Impending Rape of Iran' Amendment has been shit out, I would like to hear your explanation as to why Congress was justified in passing this piece of garbage, and why Clinton deserves our vote for betraying us like this, and why Obama deserves our vote considering he couldn't be bothered to participate in this REALLY IMPORTANT VOTE!!
I feel so damn betrayed by my party

1. Expect them to lay low...at least until midday tomorrow
when they'll be back rattling the cowbells saying that "My Candidate is the only 'electable' choice!"

That's what they did when Congress gutted FISA

2. ...
:puke:
Congress is STILL Bush's rubber stamp, as far as I'm concerned.

10. The Dems have essentially given the middle finger to their base.
At least there are some still on our side...but only some.

4. I happen to be a supporter of both Clinton and Obama
You are wrong to call me an apologist! Get this: Most politicians are underhanded; Regardless of who
you're supporting, they are not 100% pure either. :spank: They all need an ass-spanking.

7. So Clinton just voted to authorize an attack on Iran.
What justification was there for this?

11. If you aren't trying to justify their vote(or non-vote)
Then you aren't an apologist. I see plenty who do try to cover for them, and it makes me sick to my stomach.

12. I guess DUer's are most more concerned with bashing Iran's 'president'...
than with the fact that we will soon be bombing the shit out of more civilians.

5. Maybe it's because they're...
thinking about the other 275,000,000 people living here and their opinions, not just a few of us leftwingers.

But, never fear, there will be some third-party loser to vote for next year-- anything to help the Republican get in.

Me, I'm more of a pacifist and a socialist than most alleged leftie DUers could imagine-- I want the Pentagon completely shut down and I don't believe in nprivate property.

The difference is, though, that I know just how little of my wishes I will ever see.

8. So America supports going to war with Iran? Since when?
Even supposing they did, didn't most Americans support war with Iraq? Does that mean that going to war with Iraq was right?
Just because Bush lied us into it?

15. Stop whining and get back to fighting those losing...
battles. Yeah, losing battles-- look back in history and see just how long it took to get ANYTHING worthwhile done.

Many of us grew up in a golden age where we actually had some good stuff happening, but those years were rare. More often we were stealing Indian or Mexican land and then poisoning it, sending runaway slaves back home, or keeping ex-slaves and their descendants down, declaring war on any Central American country we had an economic interest in (Spain, if it took that to get Cuba and the Philippines) shooting labor agitators down like rabid dogs, and all sorts of similar good stuff.

Much of our history is sordid, with a few brilliant points thrown in here and there-- not much different from other successful countries and empires.

Understand that, and understand that our personal mission is not to remake the world as a paradise, an impossible dream, but for each of us to walk softly on the planet and do our best to leave it slightly better.
