An Anti-War Poem... Feel free to add your own
Edited on Tue Sep-25-07 07:46 PM by MrScorpio
Threats, insults and finally, violence

Our blood co-mingles, unable to tell yours from mine

A pool, red, sureness is that it's all human

1. poems
lies all abound
a year wasted overseas
with shame returned

(thought haiku was 5,7,5)

4. If I can't erase . . ..
If I can't erase the shock and horror of a young pre-teen boy,
his arms ripped and blown from his body on both sides,
how do our soldiers face this every day and keep their sanity --

they don't --

5. downing street memos
proof positive impeach him
and give peace a chance

a war based on lies
innocent lives vainly taken
this madness must cease

6. Only peripherally related - a song I wrote many years ago...
Edited on Tue Sep-25-07 08:34 PM by Ferretherder
...And you look at the country
they call 'the land of the free'
you will see people trapped
inside a cage of gold

holding the key is no man
and power and greed, they fill the need
for a sustaining force
to keep the balance swayed

take my hand
I will lead you
take their hand
they will feed you -
lies

walking a path through generation's graveyards
see the bodies lying about
what future can we expect
when thoughts do not connect

billions of miles from those who rule us
their blindfolds tied around our eyes
the darkness closes in
our minds die from within

take my hand
I will lead you
take their hand
they will feed you -
lies

Edit: puntuation

I sweat obsequious,
heretic,
a Missouri and Texas incursion.
In toto resplendent,
on which is stamped,
"Our Nation,"
with liberty
and justice
for sale.
