Is this where we have come too,
this was in an email I just received

Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN ) for 6 a.m. While his coffeepot ( MADE IN CHINA ) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG ). He put on a dress shirt ( MADE IN SRI LANKA ), designer jeans ( MADE IN SINGAPORE ) and tennis shoes ( MADE IN KOREA ). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA ) he sat down with his calculator ( MADE IN MEXICO ) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch ( MADE IN TAIWAN ) to the radio ( MADE IN INDIA ) he got in his car ( MADE IN GERMANY ) filled it with GAS from Saudi Arabia and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN J OB At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer (Made In Malaysia ), Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals ( MADE IN BRAZIL ) poured himself a glass of wine ( MADE IN FRANCE! France !! ) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA ), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in .. AMER ICA .........

2. That pretty much sums up North America, not just the US.. lol... and...
even though I did put in a "lol" I'm not sure how funny it actually really is.

4. Yes it do
this china made shit will be the death to America as we knew it if we don't stop buying it and damned if it isn't almost impossible to do that. For instance we just received a Lodge enameled coated dutch oven that I ordered a couple weeks ago and I take it out of the package thinking all right and I mention it in another thread and I was reminded that Lodge is made in the usa so I go look and Hell no our new pot is made in fucking china, if I would have known it was going to be made in china I wouldn't have even considered buying it, I'm pissed to say the least. Not too long back the pot we bought was made in France but by gawd not now. this china shit and I do mean SHIT is going to kill us yet. :grr:

and yes do drink up :toast:

6. I had the exact same thing happen to me last week! The same
brand of porcelain-coated cast iron dutch oven I had bought before was made in France -- I opened this one and it was made in China! Damn, I packed that cr*p up and sent it back! Cost nearly $20. in shipping fees.

I bought some vacuum seal plastic ware from Costco, got it home and found that it was made in China. That will be going back to Costco, this week.

I am on a mission -- I absolutely refuse to buy anything from China, if I can help it, especially any food related items, clothing or toys! As you said, it nearly impossible to find anything NOT made in China.

7. the thing is we have to always be on the lookout for them slipping another in on us
like that which just happened here with us today. Do we ever get to kick back and relax, I'm thinking more and more each day that day will never come to us again.

5. I got some motorcycle gloves made in USA
They are nothing fancy but I don't wear them above 35 miles per hour generally. They don't tighten up securely enough for highway riding. For about 75 bucks I could buy a pair with full gauntlets and velcro, though. The Chinese and Pakistani gloves I have are at least as good in quality, however deerskin is harder to get in other countries, even though it is the ideal leather for a motorcycle glove (either that or Kangaroo).

There's no reason we couldn't make lots of stuff in the US.

8. I don't have a problem with buying products produced in other countries
if it is on the up and up but when it comes to so many countries though they are only paying the workers very little, those countries I despise and try my best to not buy any thing made in them. It always puts a smile on my face when I look at something I want to buy or have just purchased and it is made in canada or any of the south american countries

11. I've stopped buying fruits and vegetables from other countries..
like Latin America and even Canada! I thought Canada was safe, but I read that they import ingredients from China and add it to their products and then put their "made in Canada" stamp on it. So, I'm not trusting any other country except the USA!

Other Latin American countries' pesticide laws are much more loose than ours. I'm trying to buy organic fruits and veggies from the US ONLY. I also have stopped buying boxed, prepared foods -- I'm trying to just buy fresh foods, not processed, because you don't know where their ingredients come from.

Hopefully, I'll lose some weight in the process, too!!

I would love it, if that happens!
