We are not defending Ahmadinejad's right to speak or what he said.
We are defending the right of the American people to hear what he said.

Just thought I'd point that out to some of the folks referring to defenders of freedom as "Ahmadinejad lovers or admirers".

1. Please don't number me among those you describe. I've posted...
in opposition to the man and his views, but support strongly his visit, his speaking and his being able to go anywhere here.

2. I've posted a thread with evidence re
his holocaust denial, and a thread critical of Bollinger for his ripping into him without even giving him a chance to speak. I clearly support his visit to Columbia just as I supported him being given access to the WTC site.

I do not support the several threads and hundred of posts denying he's a holocaust denier.

I do not believe there are people here who love him, although, there are evidently a few who respect or admire him.

3. As far as I'm concerned, he's a bogeyman erecting politician.
Little different from our own politicians who erect bogeymen for the people to fear and provide justification for violence. Just different bogeymen in his case.

5. I don't care if a college or University want him or not, but I do not want him at the WTC site
Edited on Tue Sep-25-07 03:14 PM by still_one
The WTC is a memorial to those who died there, and in my view it would represent an insensitivity to that memorial to the families who suffered a loss, to have him their, either blaming the U.S. for 9/11 or at the very least causing a circus atmosphere

He is a guest in our country, and obviously the city of New York agress with me

I would venture that most of the familes who lost loved ones would be unhappy if he appeared at the site where their loved ones were murdered

4. Just wondering
What do you think about the right of college students to hear what Ann Coulter has to say?

6. Exactly the same.
If they want to listen to, dispute, protest, the hag...fine with me.

I've protested speakers in my salad days as a student.
