Do you suppose they let Imadinajacket come over here and stir
up the hatemongering toward him so much that we would be less inclined to object to bomb bomb bomb... bomb bomb bomb Iran?

23. It's the first step in dehumanizing somebody.
It's then easier to bomb them.

28. Oh, the power.
First, a random OP on a internet message board makes fun of Ahmadinejad's suit.

Then...nuclear war!

Why doesn't this ever work for me? I make fun of people all the time, but it never leads to bombing. I must be doing something wrong.

31. Well...
...a variation of that term is commonly used at the racist anti-Muslim hate-site littlegreenfootballs. It even made their little dictionary:

http://lgfdictionary.wordpress.com/lgf-dictionary/

Ahm-A-DinnerJacket. Disparaging reference to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, president of Iran. The reference first appeared on LGF as “President Ahm-A-DinnerJacket” by Alone in NY, apparently in reference to Ahmadinejad’s practice of wearing a jacket with no tie. This was later abbreviated to DinnerJacket by whiterasta. However, two other claims to prior ownership have been located: it was used as Ahmadinnerjacket on Harry’s Place by brownie almost two weeks earlier, and it has been claimed (with no proof) that Stephanie Miller first used the phrase to make fun of herself.

12. i don't know, he comes off as a clown plus he's not in charge.
my bil has family in Iran, his sister and her family filed their paperwork 12 years ago to get out and in October she goes to Turkey for her interview which i guess is with the state department so i really hope to hell that nothing happens with Iran. My sister has been 3 times and if anyone is under the impression that women have a lot of freedom then they'd be wrong, they have more freedom then women in Saudi Arabia but Iran is not a great place to be a woman or a gay person.

That just sucks ass! I do not know why women should be second class citizens either, especially when they are smarter than men.

29. You honestly believe that? What about the many we have here that are very similar?
the fact is he doesn't live here, he cannot and could not ever force people in this country to believe as he does and yet, we have people that you cannot deny wish we lived in a country similar and say so, how about all the politicians, even dems denouncing gay marriage, who do they think they are?

Who gives them the right to make that decision for people? By even stating such puts them in the same league so where does it end? We have many people here in the states highly place religious leaders that feel the same way he does about the Jewish people, where is your outrage about that?

Lets clean up our own backyard before we worry about people "VISITING" our country with no intention of staying.

32. Lookie.
I heard him say there were no gays in Iran. None zero zilch. WTF is that? He is a nutball no doubt. A powerless nutball wannabe. My question was maybe a little half baked and intended to think about why he was invited here and allowed to accept the invitation if it wasn't to beat the war drum louder? I agree we should clean up our own country from similar types, however I always question motivation of anything public these days.

27. So let me get this straight.
Edited on Tue Sep-25-07 12:49 PM by Kelly Rupert
When the conservatives were trying to prevent him from speaking, it was so we wouldn't hear his message, so we would support them bombing Iran.

When he actually did speak, it was the conservatives trying to get him to rile us up so we would support them bombing Iran.

I suppose the old saying works in reverse, too--when all you can think about is a nail, everything looks like a hammer.

33. Conservatives tout his message. They would like to see no gays in our country, just as dinnerjacket
imagines. They would like to keep women under foot as second class citizens subserviant to men. Your second sentence I disagree with, Conservatives riling him up in an effort to spread the anger to a midnight sortie mission over IRAN
MORE inclined, not less. Everything does not look the same to me. That is why I question everything. Sorry.
