6. Mine did too but some are crawling back out from under their rocks.
I think some have been encouraged by the most recent propaganda about Iraq. You might not recognize them, though. They're all libertarians now, not Republicans, and they always were or something.

7. haha
Yes, I have noticed a lot less claiming to be Republicans now, a lot more independents! I reminded one that if he gets the annual President's Holiday card, complete with a thanks from the GOP that he is NOT an independent...

8. One of them just claimed the 2001 & 2003 tax cuts had nothing to do with the deficits
I responded to ask if he had been taking his medications as prescribed. Well, some serious stuff in there too but that was the funniest part IMO.

9. can you decipher this crap from Joe Barton for me?
http://joebarton.house.gov/news.asp?FormMode=Detail&ID=421
Is he alleging that THIS program will allow illegal immigrants and those making up to $200K to participate?

10. What a load of crap.
New York is the state that currently sets the highest income threshold of 4X the poverty rate, or a little more than $80K for a family of 4. This is described in resource linked in the OP of this thread. Barton either pulled the $400K figure out of his ass or used a family of 37 as an example. Typically for this type of propaganda, Barton doesn't burden us with the details of how he came up with that figure.

Also in the linked resource, Illegal aliens are currently ineligible for receipt of federal funds and this legislation does nothing to change that. So much for the brown skinned boogymen who are supposed to bankrupt the country if SCHIP renewal passes.

If their ideology is more important to Barton and his president than the welfare of millions of children (it is) then they should 'stay the course' on this one. I believe Junior is capable of besting Nixon for the lowest presidential approval rating of all time and this issue just might do it for him.
