How Can I Find Out How Many Soldiers From Marsha Blackburn's District Have Been Killed In Iraq?
my teenage daughter watched the video with david shuster

said things to the effect:
how is this woman supposed to remember that kid's name? it happened over a month ago?

why was she even on the show? no one knows her--she's from a district in tennessee, who cares?

i could understand him questioning some bigger fish, but why was he picking on her?

she knew all about the moveon ad because that just happened

she probably has a lot more important things to remember and work on

--------------- argh!

so i said, well what if there were only five kids in the district that died in iraq?
well, if it is only five then she should probably remember all their names

i told her if she were killed in iraq i'd be furious to hear that my bitch judy biggert didn't know her name yet her "representation" and votes got my kid killed. (my kid: well, i guess i can understand that)

but...all in all, she didn't think calling marsha on the hypocrisy was worth it, impressive, nothing. she saw it as picking on this poor woman who probably has a lot on her mind and she's a nobody anyway.

--------------- argh!

so, i'm just curious as to how many troops from the 7th district in TN have been killed. i tried googling but got lost in the web. can someone help me out with this?

and then...
can someone help me out w/my kid?

i think she views me as such a screaming fucking liberal, that she tries to counterbalance things with what she sees as an objective viewpoint--? which just drives me crazy.
i posted earlier on a thread that i am intolerant of intolerance. my daughter is tolerant of intolerance. (i think it's her age--i used to be tolerant of that crap too)

1. I watched that. He nailed her.
The last thing you mention. I agree completely, intolerance of intolerance. Mine came late in my life.

Tennessee has 8 Congressional districts
So its likely her district had on the order of 10 casualties.
I don't know the cities in her district to figure out closer than that but if you're interested here's the data.

7. Take a look at how screwy the 7th district is drawn. This is a prime example of
districting for privilege. I suspect the Repukes drew this district up.

3. Marsha Blackburn is a total dumbass. I'm embarrassed that she represents my state.
But then again I'm embarrassed by Zack Wamp & Bob Corker, too, & they are from my home town which is even MORE embarrassing.

Marsha Blackburn has no business being in Congress. She represents a neocon district of the neuvo rich, so as long as she totes the pResident's water & looks purty, she's doing her job! :puke:

Interestingly, after reading your OP, I did a search and checked out...
Ms. Blackburn's own site and guess what, you won't find the number of lost soldiers there either or, at least, I sure couldn't find that info yet the woman kept saying how important each and every loss was, go figure, eh. I answered the poll on her main page while I was there and it was VERY interesting, to say the least, given the locale. I would say send your daughter to her site and then ask her how important those lost REALLY are to Ms. Blackburn.

I could barely stand to listen to her but I wanted to hear what David Shuster had to say so I stuck with her prattling on and on and on like a fucking windup robot.

And the district is further from D.C. than Marsha Blackburn's. Politicians are in the business of remembering names.

6. I googled "Iraq casualties" and the very first link is

Just how hard did you look?

This site allows you to organize casualties by state and shows hometowns. There's only 82 with Tenn. hometowns, so there is not a huge number from Blackburn's district. This slime Congresswoman should know the name! You should be able to call the Congresswoman's office and her staff could look it up. It's obvious Blackburn lets her staff worry about small things like dead soldiers. She is too involved with the important stuff like MoveOn ads. They act soooooo concerned about the poor, poor soldiers but don't even bother to learn their name.

I would say you have a parenting challenge.

edit : miscount on casualties corrected

9. I guess your kid couldn't
see that marsha was a freakin' robot..she had her nyt empty bashing points all down and she's bragging how she's in CONTACT with the families of the Soldiers in her District 7 and emails emails emails emails and btw, she knew she should know the name of Pvt Jeremy S Bohannon..she was busted pure and simple.

marsha and her ilk started this war and they're feeding our kids into their cannons with no end EVER..they're are going to keep dying and all marsha could do was worry about the nyt giving moveon a RATE. I hope your daughter never has to know someone fed into their war machine.

The point of the interview was to call the gop on their hypocricy and if she investigates she might see David Shuster did a damn fine job when the corporatemediawhores always give them a pass.
