It seems to me that "60 Minutes" has taken a turn to the right.
Pelley's interview with Ahmadenijad, is but one example.

7. Who else thought that Bush's quote to Ahmadenijad
Edited on Sun Sep-23-07 09:46 PM by oldtime dfl_er
was actually (if subconsciously) self referential? I'll try to find it, but maybe someone else can post it if they have it?

15. It seems to me that it was a classic case of projection
It was almost textbook. See in others what can't see in oneself. Split off the bad self and project it onto the enemy and then have to vanguish them.

8. Agreed
It used to be a must see for me on the weekend, but no more. I hardly ever watch it, and always change the channel when Katie Couric pops up.

Seems NPR is steering a bit too much to the right as well.

On 60 Minutes he is interrogating, not to be confused with an interview with President Ahmadinejad . He asks " There is NO DOUBT that Iran is supplying weapons that KILL americans"!!! Confrmed by whom Scott?? The US Military??

omg! This is such biased and hostile interview, I am disgusted!

He's best defense is the lack of moral authority of America today. In fact, I find that reporter rude.

It's the first time I feel kind of sympathetic to the President of Iran. I still think he is behind the death of hundreds of American troops, don't get me wrong.

demonize this man before he speaks. Okay....he ain't the brightest bulb in a socket but the Imans in Iran aren't stupid at all. Most Iranians aren't stupid! They would like to join the rest of the world but if we blow their shit up, they would have no choice but to fight.

13. Bush speaking of himself
Edited on Sun Sep-23-07 09:46 PM by oldtime dfl_er
From CBS website:

"PELLEY: I asked President Bush what he would say to you if he were sitting in this chair. And he told me, quote, speaking to you, that you've made terrible choices for your people. You've isolated your nation. You've taken a nation of proud and honorable people and made your country the pariah of the world. These are President Bush's words to you. What's your reply to the president?"

Especially after Ed Bradley died. They were cowed, but at least had some heart. I rarely go there anymore. Redstone wins another one.

18. Oh, would that ANY "reporter" in America
question Bush with such vigor.

And if a reporter in another country treated Bush the way Pelley treated Ahmadinejad, the Freepazoids would have exploded with rage and the gnashing of the teeth.
