DUer's--We Just Lost the War on the War in the Senate!!!
Edited on Fri Sep-21-07 10:30 AM by wienerdoggie
I Propose a Resolution to Condemn Ben Nelson and Mark Pryor:

Today, these two quislings voted NO on Levin Reed, which would have allowed for an orderly, gradual and responsible withdrawal and redeployment of most troops from Iraq. They both voted for Levin Reed in July. While we have Republicans crossing over to vote AYE on Levin Reed (Snowe, Smith, and Hagel), we now have Democrats going in the opposite direction and refusing to end the war. The significance of this new development cannot be overstated. Harry Reid has lost control of the Democrats--we are no longer unified on Iraq. It's over, folks. Republicans will no longer cross over to vote with us if our own Democrats aren't willing to vote to end the war. Please join me in expressing your condemnation of these two Democratic Senators--write them and call, too.

1. Sorry, we don't have 60 votes for that.
We only have 60 votes for when we're denouncing liberal activists.

2. I'll support your resolution. And we'll send the results on to the
Senate.

Let's get some support here!

4. This is really HUGH. It's really over--not only are we not attracting
Repub support, we're actually hemorrhaging Democrats. I can't believe this. I am really, truly stunned.

6. Kicking, I edited the title to draw more attention, though I hate to sound
like a crazed prophet. We suffered a very serious, possibly fatal blow in ever ending the war today.

8. It wouldn't have passed, of course, but the significance is that we
lost Democratic support, that we previously had in July, to end the war. We didn't lose Republican support--we lost our own Democrats. And everyone wants to talk about pitbulls eating kitties.
