Oct. 11, Barbara Boxer fundraiser reception with Al Gore in San Francisco..
This is scheduled for the evening before the nobel peace prize announcement...I am hopng that Gore will announce running after winning the award...hopefully he wins....I bought a ticket to go...thought I would have some buttons made to wear...ITS GOTTA BE GORE 2008...I know there will be responses saying it aint gonna happen...but there is really only one presidential candidate solution to resurrect the US and I keep praying that he runs...here is the email from Boxer:

Click here to buy tickets for a reception with me and Al Gore!

I'm so excited to announce a special event that will take place near you soon -- and I hope you can join us.

On Thursday, October 11th, I will be hosting a reception honoring special Guest Vice President Al Gore. The event will take place between 4:00 and 6:00pm in the Grand Ballroom of the Westin St. Francis Hotel, located on 335 Powell Street in San Francisco (please click here to view and print a map).

Not only will you be able to see Al Gore, but there will also be special acoustic performances by Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt!

Ticket prices are $100 for Seniors/Students, $150 for General Admission, and $250 for Reserved seats. The proceeds from the ticket sales will go to my 2010 re-election campaign so that we are prepared for what's to come. It would mean so much to me if you could attend and show your support.

Click here to RSVP and join me on October 11th for a reception honoring Al Gore in San Francisco!

Vice President Gore and I have worked together on a variety of issues in the past, most notably on protecting our environment. Just this past March, Al Gore accepted my invitation to testify before the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee about the growing dangers of global warming.

I have so much respect and admiration for Vice President Gore, and I can't wait to see him here in San Francisco.

I hope you can join us!

Thank you for always being there when I need you most. I hope to see you at our reception with Al Gore on October 11th!

In Friendship,

Barbara Boxer
U.S. Senator

11. You know what? The last fundraiser I went to that Barbara Boxer hosted was with Barrack Obama...She
had been planning it for over two months - and the day before the fundraiser, Obama announced he was running for President...

Maybe it will happen again???? :bounce:

2. I used to live in Berkeley and I really, really wish I was there now so I could attend!
Perhaps you should cross-post this in the California forum so that other DUers will find out about it and be able to attend.

I don't think Al would announce that evening, but I think that audience reception to him right now is really critical for determining whether he throws his hat in the ring.

Have fun! Make sure Al knows we love him...

:hi:

5. It would be a nice coincidence if he were also to have her as his running mate too!
Should he choose to announce the day afterward! Though it probably wouldn't happen that way since Ahnuld would pick a Rep to replace her in the Senate (UGH!) to be paired with DINO DiFi.

9. WERE. I never heard this before:
Rose Garden Wedding
Hillary Rodham Clinton's younger brother, Tony Rodham, and Nicole Boxer, the daughter of Senator Barbara Boxer, were married on Saturday in the first White House wedding in 23 years. About 250 guests attended the 40-minute ceremony in the Rose Garden. Judge Peter Capua, a family friend from Miami, performed the wedding under a white canopy after remarks from a Methodist minister and a Jewish lay representative.

They had one son, Zachary, in 1996,<7><8> before separating by 2001<7> and then getting a divorce.

8. There's no mention on her site about it - any other info you can provide?
I usually get emails, but haven't seen anything about this...the last fundraiser I attended from Friends of Boxer was last fall when she hosted Barrack Obama at the St. Francis hotel.
