St. George Police Officer Fired Over Internet Video
(KSDK) - A St. George, Mo., police officer whose verbal tirade was caught on tape and seen around the country on the Internet was fired Thursday, St. George Police Chief Scott Uhrig said.

The St. George board of aldermen met behind closed doors Monday night and on Tuesday they notified Uhrig that Sgt. James Kuehnlein was out of a job pending the outcome of an investigation by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's office.

Brett Darrow, 20, the driver who recorded the Sept. 7 altercation with Kuehnlein, said he is glad he had his camera rolling and is even happier to see the officer terminated.

City leaders are now reviewing police department policies and procedures, as well as looking at ways to change background checks and hiring procedures.

Travis L. Noble, Kuehnlein's attorney, said he will meet with his client soon and decide if they will appeal the termination.

3. And folks wonder..
... why some of us don't have much use for policemen. this sort of crap happens all the time, only once in a while it gets on tape and something gets done about it.

Normally, the cop does what he wants and nobody questions it.

9. Oh, he will, you can count on it.
McDonalds is always looking for shift managers. Those poor part-time kids won't know what hit them.

11. Here's a cop website where they discuss this..
Most of the cops here sound like they are of the same temperament. Sad, really.

10. The authority a police officer wields...
...requires oversight. They face incredible stress, but I want them to have to behave at all times as though they're on camera. When they arrest an unruly citizen, let it be because the suspect is a butthead.

Keep 'em honest.
