If they had simply ignored the MoveOn ad, would it have been just another blip on the radar screen? By working themselves into a frenzy over it, have the Rs inadvertently amplified it and extended its message far beyond its original market penetration? Is this the kind of publicity that every publicist dreams of, but can't be bought?

3. What else are they going to talk about? The value of the US dollar?
200 billion more for Iraq?

This one is pretty low hanging fruit, good enough for the current news cycle.

4. It certainly made the TV news shows and, obviously, the internet sounding boards.
So I guess I'd say the publicity from the brouhaha goes far beyond what an ad in the NY Times usually conveys.

I can see good arguments on both sides of the discussion whether it's all a plus or a minus. We'll see how it settles out.

5. I've posted this same thing on quite a # of different threads.
MoveOn could NEver afford the kind of publicity they got for their $65,000 ad! I'm sure they are thrilled! This was the most publicized ad since the Swift Boaters!

I still think MoveOn helps the Dems a lot more than it may harm them, and I've heard quite a few comments from people claiming they contributed to MoveON, and they had never heard of them before.

GOOD GOING Pubs! Thanks for the help!

12. I'm one of those brand new members...
Even though I had heard of MoveOn, I had never visited their site until today. Also, made my first donation. They can thank the GOP & its think tanks for their newfound fame & fortune.

6. all the chest thumping and the "How dare they!!" makes me think the news dump
is going to be epic tomorrow, i could be dead wrong (wouldn't be the first time) all this puffery and righteous indignation seems like a diversionary tactic.

They look guilty by trying to attack the ad. The American people are on to the Bush Administrations Bull Shit.

The worst thing Bush could have done was to personally attack Move-On because Americans don't trust him. They are over playing this like they did the Terry Schiavo fiasco.
