Here is the transcript of Keith's Special Comment
The President of Hypocrisy

So the President, behaving a little bit more than usual, like we'd all interrupted him while he was watching his favorite cartoons on the DVR, stepped before the press conference microphone and after side-stepping most of the substantive issues like the Israeli raid on Syria in condescending and infuriating fashion, produced a big-wow political finish that indicates, certainly, that if it wasn't already -- the annual Republican witch-hunting season is underway.

"I thought the ad was disgusting. I felt like the ad was an attack not only on General Petraeus, but on the U.S. Military.

"And I was disappointed that not more leaders in the Democrat party spoke out strongly against that kind of ad.

"And that leads me to come to this conclusion: that most Democrats are afraid of irritating a left-wing group like Move-On-Dot-Org -- or **more** afraid of irritating them, than they are of irritating the United States military."

"That was a sorry deal."

First off, it's "Democrat-ic" party, Sir.

You keep pretending you're not a politician, so stop using words your party made up. Show a little respect.

3. He absolutely does
and he came out punching with this one, especially since he's coming back from an emergency appendectomy.

6. OK. I admit I'm paranoid, but...
"...most Democrats are afraid of irritating a left-wing group like Move-On-Dot-Org -- or **more** afraid of irritating them, than they are of irritating the United States military."

I hear that as saying that we SHOULD be more afraid of irritating the military. I hear that as an implied threat.

But I'm sure that's just paranoid me...

7. I wasn't sure what to make of the Shrub's rambling speech
He was slurring and stumbling over his words. Almost thought he was drunk.

9. Greylyn, you may read up on many theories that Bush is a dry drinker...

General family order and conditions are treated here and in "Bush on the Couch":

or maybe he's still a wet drinker!

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/9/16/10210/4501

Who the hell knows?

I'm tired of trying to get into his head -- I just want him out of the White House.

I wish we could put him on a stretcher and take him away to a padded cell somewhere. Maybe someone can fix him, but most important, we need somebody... almost ANYBODY... but Bush.

10. I've heard some on DU say he's drinking again
others have said he's a dry drunk. I don't know.

I personally think he's an ass and damned dangerous.

"Dead or Alive."

"Them or us"

"We'll fight them there so they won't fight us over here."

I wonder if he has ever stood out on a dark night and looked up at the stars. We are a piece of dust at the edge of a seemingly smallish galaxy, the Milky Way, in the middle of something we don't really understand, the Universe. Do you ever think he worries about how all people on this grain of sand really should be together, because we are all human beings and our home is this small planet?

Alice Walker was on AAR this morning. She said something similar, but much more eloquently.

I just wonder if this Earth that we love will even exist in a few years. I try not to be pessimistic, because I have young grandchildren and I don't want them to be fearful. But some days I am terrified that one madman (BUSH, OR ANY OF THE OTHER CRAPPY STATESMEN FROM ALL THE OTHER WAR-CAPABLE NATIONS -- THEIR NAMES GO HERE) from one of our planet's warring states (START WITH THE A's - America... etc.) just needs to touch a button and BOOM!

I'm going to take a bubble bath -- and listen to soft music. Sure cure for the hee-bee jee-bees.

Peace, Love and Happiness

8. He's just reading from a script -- you know that parrots have some brains, and probably
more than this pResident, actually.

He's just the posterboy for education that failed badly, or something inherited, or visited upon him during his life, unless you believe that some people come from bad seeds.

What do I really think? He's just more and more removed from precise English as we get deeper into 2007. Maybe he will get to Gibberish before January 2009. Wouldn't that be exciting?

Rest easy.

13. OT: Greylyn, I love your Golden Retrievers. I work with the blind who staff the
radio station where I volunteer.

We usually have one Golden or two around during meetings. Also, the Guide Dog group out in Boring, Oregon breeds beautiful crosses of Golden Retrievers and yellow Labrador Retrievers. During a tour there, they claim that crossbreeding produces a superior dog. I wonder what qualities they are looking for? Do you know?

15. Not really, unless they are trying to breed out some health issues
that plague both breeds or bring out some of their better traits.
