Webb Amendment Fillibustered by Repugs ...What about the Nuclear Option
Edited on Wed Sep-19-07 05:54 PM by KoKo01
that Dems were threatened with and Harry Reid wrung his hands about for "Supreme Judges."

It seems that with a Dem Majority almost as fragile as Repug Majority...the "Fillibuster" STILL only belongs to Repugs!

What about that "Nuclear Option" that cowered Dems in their bunker as they appeared on Ed Shultz and folks to send their e-mail messages out to those of us signed up to get them about "we can't do ANYTHING without a Majority...Please SEND MONEY so WE CAN REPRESENT YOU." and...that's way back I signed up for those E-Mails from our Dems who asked for money to REGAIN THE POWER... Seems the Repugs know the RULES better than Reid or the rest of our Dem Senators!

Maybe instead of money we should have sent them ALL, a Copy of the Constitution! Talk and Walk...it's what it comes down to....Dems Talk the Talk but Repugs do the WALK! :nuke: I'm so angry.

1. Give our dem reps their blankies and send them to the sandbox.
I am so damn tired of them getting bullied, or outright endorsing all this rw fascist crap. Can't you just hear all the good ol boy laughter in the country club bars right now? I'm so sick of it.

2. I really didn't expect the dems
to be able to pass anything major, they don't have a large majority and we still have this administration but I did expect them to stop more from happening. They didn't need to pass the FISA bill, they didn't need to fund 'the surge'etc.

3. And the Dems refuse to filibuster when in the minority.
You know, keep the powder dry and all that.

Yet the Reupkes filibuster every god damn thing.

4. Dont let DU member "Cali" hear you say that
They fillibustered the Estrada nomination!!!!

C'mon, the famous Estrada case!

Not Habeus Corpus, Spying, Torture, war funding... but the important things like 1 douchebag judge out of 100 they got through.

I agree with you. The repuga fillibuster and the entire congress gets blamed for not passing anything.

Wimpy, Spineless Dems.

5. It's Exasperating! How they get us to "send money" and then don't deliver...yet
the list of Liberal Dems who Vote for Change is always "calculated" so that the "so called" Blue Dogs vote with Repugs!

Where's the Party Discipline from "Give 'Em Hell Harry Reid?" If you can't keep your Dems in line with promises of Choice Committee Appointments and great Dem Support in CASH then what the Hell kind of LEADER are YOU? Without a LEADER...those who follow are renegade.

9. The votes yesterday and today were unanimous on the (D) side,
save Baucus's (MT) nay on the DC bill. And on each we got a handful of (R) and (I) support. Without a few more Dem's in the Senate, this is where it stands.

They were all good bills and the unanimous Democratic support showed clear, broad Democratic sponsorship for the Habeas Corpus bill and the Webb amendment on troop deployments.

10. So..........Why didn't they Fillibuster or Distrupt to stall the vote like Repugs do and have done?
 This was IMPORTANT AND LIFE OR DEATH TO MANY...they couldn't have had a "strategy?"

Seems Repugs managed to do everything they wanted...with or without a majority...and threatening something called the "Nuclear Option" if Dems wouldn't cower before them.

Something just smells funny, here.

11. The "Balls to Push the Envelope past the laws" which can be "changed" as they go along
by the Power of the Unitary Presidency? ...

Is that what you mean? The guts and savvy to Push the Envelope for the Dem Side cowers when faced with Illegal, Unlawful PUSH by Repugs...because they OWN most of our Judicial System..and their Magnificent Power since putting an Ignorant/Illiterate in Power with a Cardiac Arrest Patient who defies nature...is just so AWE INSPIRING...even ANGELS FALL DOWN BEFORE HIM...AND THEM? :eyes: Give me a Break!
