I know it's hard to believe, particularly with the level of incompetence, corruption, and abject hypocrisy they have displayed, but it's a fact. But when that unhappy day comes, those low-life bastards better PRAY that they have not just a majority, but a super-majority (60 votes).
Does anyone remember Hannity, Limbaugh, and the rest of the wingnut noise machine whining about "obstructionist Democrats" prior to the '06 elections? Well, I don't have an exact count, (some enterprising DUer can certainly find out) but I will wager that the Reugs have insisted on a 60 vote threshold for more than twice as many motions as the Dems did during the previous Congress. The bastards filibuster everything!
So I say FUCK 'EM. When the Dems are in the minority I hope they insist on a super majority for EVERY Republican motion or amendment. Larry Craig wants to name a rest room stall after himself? 60 votes. Trent Lott wants to proclaim the noose as the official emblem of Mississippi? 60 votes. Those pricks don't understand anything but hardball, and I hope the Dems eventually figure that out.
