.....The Index, which debuts this month, combines responses to 10 questions on Americans' views about their leaders, the direction of their country and their personal situations. Polling for the Index began in July, and that month's results provide the benchmark score of 100.

A score above 100 indicates the country's mood has improved since July. A score below 100, like the one recorded in September, shows the nation's mood getting worse. The RZI, which will be released the third Wednesday of each month, had remained at 100 in August.

9. America's collective conscious has been poisoned by 6 years

of criminals in power. our national identity has been scarred and beaten by the acts that have been ordered and carried out by fellow americans. war crimes have been repeatedly committed, and no one has been held to account. whether or not we witness with our own eyes, we feel it as a whole. as more war veterans are created and return home, carrying the scars of war and ptsd, our country will continue to suffer. we are a nation of illegal war, corrupt leadership, and powerful arrogance.

everyday that americans point guns, drop bombs and kick in doors in an occupied country, we, collectively, deteriorate. it is sad and will get much darker before we can wake up to bright new day.

all of the things you've listed have been business as usual for more than 50 years now...we simply had the polite fiction that it was otherwise. * apparently thinks that making up believable stories for us is a waste of his nap time, though, so we get to see just how great our nation really is.

15. the mortgage crisis and the pain at the pump

is probably weighing on alot of Americans and making alot of people unhappy.

Riding my motorcycles and scooters, I get questions a plenty whenever gas goes up. People are so disappointed when I tell them the price tag on a scooter that'll do what they want (usually go on expressways- they want a total car replacement basicly), usually about 5,000 bucks at least, and you do need a motorcycle license. Lots of people broke as hell and desperate.
