Is There Too Much Primary Thinking At DU?
Is this the part where we all thrash around behind different bumperstickers and then when The Candidate is chosen we all put on the same T shirt?

Why do we expend so much energy bickering about nothing just to bicker? Why not join forces?

Why are our candidates campaigning 2 years 2 early instead of joining forces in Congress against this out-of-control and unaccountable administration?

Is this the part where we focus on the tasered heckler instead of the blowtorched Constitution?

Isn't the common thread here, the loss of civil rights?

Is that something to fight with EACH OTHER over?

1. This is no worse than 2004! Same kind of chaos...
But we do not belong to an organized party, we're Democrats!!!

5. No, I said we are 'not' organized...
But that's not even the point.

DU is a family.

Families are dysfunctional.

Ergo...

15. Yeah. There's a whips-&-boots component to it.
Not very Buddhists I know in a small enclave in mid-central Great Britain are that much into whether Bill Richardson is or isn't an asshole.

However.

I like Richardson just fine, for the record.

Also! A handful of DUers recommended to me a TREMENDOUS read: Simon Schama's THE POWER OF ART.

If you have some extra spendin' money, it's worth the buy.

Hope all's well your way.

We are too disorganized for anything else. Maybe a supreme leader will emerge.

7. We share common goals, but different priorities and methods to achieve them.
Thus, we do battle, especially on the eve of the primaries in our current political climate, with so much at stake. Strap in, it's going to get worse before it gets better.

16. It'll be alright (or as much as can be expected).
People are tired, angry and frustrated and have to let it out. It may look ugly, but it's only sparring.

21. 'Eve of the primaries' ?
We are not at the 'eve' and I agree....it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Why do we think so far out? But the GOP has been thinking that far ahead since November of 2004, when I saw and heard of Hillary being the frontrunner way back then the weekend after that election, she was declared the Queen.

24. Like Christmas shopping season, it was moved forward for us, not by us.
So, while I agree it isn't really the "eve" of the primaries, it is for all practical purposes.

And, yes, you are absolutely right on about the GOP picking Senator Clinton as our nominee for us years ago. I've said as much before, with mixed response from the peanut gallery.

13. We better think about the primary because the media is working overtime to choose for us
We better start fighting for a candidate that will stand up to police brutality and election fraud. Maybe someone who has read the Constitution and believes in it?

writ.

They have all the money for the ads and stuff. The poll numbers are respectable...and the when the Indies and Repug "true Conservatives" fall in line...it's one.

All we need to do is go on with our life because it's all been decided.

Just make sure you show up at the Poll to case your VOTE THOUGH! We can't take any chances. In the end it's about "People Power" when the Momentum is so strong for Dem Frontrunners...but without your "VOTE" all the Campaign Money and Ads won't mean a Damn.

VOTE...it's your only voice in Politics. :patriot:

M$M and Big Donors and Little have decided it already. Just enjoy the Fall and the Holidays. Be sure to show up at the Polls for Primaries, though.

Edited on Tue Sep-18-07 09:05 PM by TwilightZone
My way or the highway seems to be a common theme.

I agree with you - I believe that our time would be much better served by fighting the Republicans instead of ourselves.
