2. We just took in another cat...
The renter next door to our house didn't want to take it with...pretty cat, de-clawed, REAAALLY pissed of at being in the same place with our other 4 illegals.

4. Isn't it heartbreaking to know that there are people out there who would move away and just leave
their pets behind to fend for themselves....and perhaps perish?
A friend of mine just took in a kitty who was abandoned in just that way.
Leaving my furbabies behind like that is beyond anything I can imagine myself doing...

3. Great advice. As a landlord AND a pet-lover, I agree with all points.
I accept pets in all of my rentals, but I am much pickier about them than I used to be after getting burned a few times.
It is very disheartening and expensive when someone lies to you and does not take responsibility for their pet(s).
I myself am a renter at the present and I have 2 cats and 2 dogs. I was able to rent because I am very responsible, my pets are clean and well behaved,
and I paid a hefty deposit for them, only partially refundable.
