Tonight in Minneapolis (Elvis gets political)

Elvis Costello that is... He performed with the Minnesota Orchestra tonight, and Janet an I were lucky enough to get 2nd row center seats!!!

And, throughout the show, he kept a distinctly anti-war tone. One of his guitars had a sticker on the back, "Forget Iraq, Rebuild New Orleans."

He repeatedly talked about the war, but at one point he mentioned that his 9-month old twins (with Diana Krall) were Americans, so he had a special interest in things getting better...

There were BIG cheers from the audience when he did this... Funny thing, at one point he mentioned 'the supporters of this administration,' and about 4 people in back cheered, only to be 'booed' by the bulk of the audience.

Also saw several Al Franken shirts in the audience.

It was an amazing show. If you like Elvis you should have heard the orchestral arrangement of "Watching the Detectives!!!"
