I am guessing that most people will consider this as an outrage because al Sadr's Militia has killed American Troops & he is vehemtly opposed to the US Occupation. It may be not be a stupid concept. Al Sadr has a large following &is more popular than the PM of Iraq, Maliki. Al Sadr does not want Iran to run Iraq, so he does have that much in common with the Busholini Regime as opposed to the Badr Brigade, which is alligned with Iran. Yeah, politics does indeed make strange bedfellows.

1. Al Sadr just called for a cease fire last week.
Then U.S. troops raided some of his buildings, killed several officers, forcing Sadr to withdraw the offer.

So I don't think Sadr's going to be interested in pacts any time soon.

2. I read that al Sadr was attempting to garner a truce with a faction
of the Sunni Insurgency in orders to gain a united front against the US/UK Occupation. This man may seem like a crazy rabel rouser but he is starting to mature as a politician. He has been painted as a Terrorist but not one shred of actual evidence has surfaced that he has commited terrorism. Fighting against Occupiers of one's country is not terrorism. I am not a fan of al Sadr, however he is becoming a major player in Iraq & unless he is killed, he will continue to become a force to be reckoned with.
