That's IT, I'm Moving Outta DFW in 2009: Bush May Buy Property in Highland Park Dallas >

(CBS 11 News) HIGHLAND PARK President George W. Bush could be returning to the Dallas area to make his home after he leaves office in two years. Highland Park is the most likely spot, and the town might be best prepared to protect the first family...

One particular property in Highland Park is the focus of a lot of speculation. The 4000 Euclid address is a one acre lot worth about $2 million, and many people in Highland Park think that’s where the president and first lady will make their residence.

“I've had personal conversations with the secret service, and everybody has their guesses, but as far as I can tell, they are just that… guesses,” said Chief Darrell Fant, Highland Park Police Department.

Fant, the director of public safety in Highland Park, says his 54 officers are uniquely prepared. “Our whole department spends time training in protection of foreign dignitaries, because we do have foreign dignitaries who visit here.”

What will become of his ranch in Crawford? Why doesn't his ass just move there? Why come here to DFW? Maybe some Dallasite can go to 4000 Euclid and put up signs saying "King George, Stay Away" or some such slogan.

1. That's a good place for him. That way, I can avoid the Dallas Cowboys and George Bush all at once.

4. He only bought the ranch as a campaign prop.
Kind of like Fred Thompson's truck.

I thought he was going to move to Costa Rica?

5. Where do you think Cheney came from?
He used to live in Highland Park.

( The very fact that he and Bush were on the same ticket was unconstitutional. ...shades of what was to come.)

Highland Park has always been the Republican Heart of Darkness.

6. I heard the funniest story about that.
I was talking to someone from that area who knows a few of the well connected families in Dallas. On the level of the Hunts--he does consulting work for them.

One of them, a staunch conservative Republican, said everyone (meaning all the rich old money rich folk) was very upset that Bush might move there. "It will be just like Perot," she told him. "He'll think we want him around, and invite himself to dinner and parties." Apparently, the Bush family still doesn't understand that it is the hired help.
