3. Stein has really slipped a cog.
I really, really like Stein for the longest time -- bright, funny, insightful. But he's gone south.

I remember a column about 2 years ago when he was bitching about the political activism at the Academy Awards. He claimed that he was certain that Hollywood was so far left that there were no vets in the theater that night. Mickey Rooney, a decorated soldier from WWII, had received an award from the Academy that night. Oops. And I guess Stein being up to his gills in Hollywood doesn't count either.

And now this mindless shit.
