National Journal Insiders poll picks Richardson, says Bush is lame as hell
I would like to see Clark higher, but I like Richardson too. I think Newt would be our easiest Repub to beat.
I know these polls don't mean much...

Which long-shot presidential hopeful has the most potential to emerge as a serious contender for your party's 2008 nomination? (excludes HRC, Obama, Edwards, McCain, Guiliani and Romney)
Dems: Bill Richardson 46%
Reps: Newt Gingrich 48%

On a scale of 0 (not lame) to 10 (totally lame) how much of a lame duck is President Bush?
Dems: 81% Very Lame, 11% moderately lame, 7% not very lame
Reps: 53% Very Lame, 31% moderately lame, 16% not very lame

1. They're going to lose no matter who they run
That's why we should make doubly sure we pick the absolute best candidate, not the "safe" or "centrist" candidate.

2. I disagree.
Republicans wil always have a good 40% of the vote, no matter who they run.
Guiliani beats most Dems in most polls (though I can't forsee him winning the nom).
Is Obama "safe?" Is HRC "safe?" Do you think that is why they lead the polls for now? I don't think so. I also think that everyone's definition of "best" is going to be different.

The only person I agree with on all of the positions is me, but I don't think I am the best candidate.
