1. It won't load.
I assume its some sort of forced marriage. Is it of a minor? If you feel some sort of abuse is going on here, report it to their state's DCFS.

:puke:

It's even worse than that though. It looks, seriously, like a site to set teen aged girls up with older men.

It seems like some sort of auction site to buy women for marriage. And many of them are minors. This is horrible and has to be illegal. If anyone can find out who these people are, please report them!

60. I got to the site. The FAQs, just the FAQs:
Q: IS YOUR SERVICE LEGAL?
A: Absolutely. Within the United States girls can marry as young as 13 years old with parental permission, and the Bride Price is a custom of long standing, mentioned many times in the Bible, and as such is a protected religious practice. Click HERE for a listing of the age limits and legal requirements in various states. Click HERE for what the Bible says on Bride Price.

Q: WHAT IS A BRIDE PRICE?
A: The bride price is an ancient custom, somewhat like a dowry. A man wishing to marry a woman would offer her family a Bride Price in cash or kind, or sometimes offer to work for their family.

For more on the Bride Price, see:

HERE
or
HERE
or
HERE

Q: CAN AN ARRANGED MARRIAGE BE A HAPPY ONE?
A: If both parties work hard at it, yes, it can. The divorce rate for arranged marriages is exactly the same as those for marriages that are not pre-arranged.

Q: WHY IS YOUR SERVICE LIMITED TO MEN FROM AMERICA?
A: We need to be able to follow up on the satisfaction of our customers, which is too difficult to do in foreign countries.

Q: WHAT IF MY MARRIAGE DOESN’T WORK OUT?
A: We feel that marriage is a lifetime commitment. But in the unhappy event that your marriage doesn’t work out, then whatever conditions have been negotiated between the husband and the wife’s family will apply. Remember, we are an introduction service – we do not finalize arrangements between bride and groom nor are we involved in enforcing agreements

Q: WHAT IF NO ONE PROPOSES TO MY DAUGHTER?
A: In the unlikely event that no one proposes after six months, we will return 50 percent of your listing fee.

Q:WHAT IF NO ONE ACCEPTS MY PROPOSAL?
A: In that case, you might want to closely examine how you are proposing and how carefully you are matching your likes and dislikes, your goals and dreams, to those of your prospective bride.

In most states that will lead to pedophilia. Sick, sick, sick!

And asking a "bride price"?? these fundies really do see women as chattel.

24. Read their Testimonial page and tell me if you think this is real:

"Thank God for your site! Our daughter was really nervous walking down the aisle, but she seems okay now and the money we got let us keep our farm and even add on a few acres."

—Mrs. Addrien L.

"At first we were worried that Janine was too young to get married, but then her new husband bought her a house and a car and jewelry and the money we got let us buy a house for ourselves. Getting out of the trailer park at our age was the best thing that ever happened to us, and it’s all thanks to Marry Our Daughter!"

—Mr. Jack M.

“I was SO scared getting married so young, but my husband is an okay guy and I am SO proud that because of me my parents were able to get their first brand-new car and take the trip they always wanted to. I couldn’t have done it without your site!"

—Katrina K., married at 14

“Our 15 year old daughter Mary wasn’t very popular and did nothing but mope around the house bringing everybody down, so we decided to marry her off through your site. Now our house is a lot cheerier and we love our new swimming pool and Jaccuzi! We’ve told our youngest that when she turns 15 we’re going to marry her off too!"

—Mrs. James P.

“My mother thought I was getting ‘too frisky” and that I had to get married right away before I lost my purity to some high school boy. Marry Our Daughter found me a husband and my parents were able to keep their house and pay off my mother’s medical bills. I was so glad I could help them, and being married at my age (I'm 16 now) has a lot of advantages, like my own credit card!"

The website states that things are legal, that these are just arranged marriages. Each "bride" comes with a cash price, though. I think that word is getting out about the site and they can't handle the traffic.

14. What person in their right mind
would humiliate their daughter this way? It is basically selling them off. But hey, at least we can't gamble on line.

If you want to propose to a 14 year old, here are the rules:

To propose to the daughter of your choice, please first read through our dos and don’ts and then fill out the form below for our review. Any form that violates our policies as outlined in the dos and don’ts will be rejected. We have numerous proposals to go through and then the family needs to decide, so please allow 6-8 weeks for a final response. If a Daughter chooses someone else in the meantime, you will be notified.

DOs:

Be romantic! This is a marriage proposal, not a business transaction
Explain why you have chosen this particular daughter to marry out of all the others
Detail what you are looking for in a wife – what you expect out of a life-partner, the qualities that are important to you.
Describe what kind of life you would be able to provide for a wife

DON’Ts:

Do not be sexual or sexually explicit in any way.
Do not describe the Daughter’s body other than to say things like “pretty” or “beautiful smile.”
Do not specify contact info – we will provide your form to your prospective bride’s family and it is up to them to contact you either through us or directly. It is fine to write in general terms such as “northeast” or “southwest.”
Do not specify your age, except in a range such as “20s, 30s, 40s, 50s” etc.
Do not specify your income save as above in terms of what you would be able to provide
Do not include or attach a photo (you can’t anyway) – the Daughter may ask you for a photo or not, at her discretion.
Don’t include your full name.
Do not propose to multiple Daughters or all your proposals will be rejected.

16. 14 year olds!
From their mission statement:

Marry Our Daughter is an introduction service assisting those following the Biblical tradition of arranging marriages for their daughters.

Those who wish to list their Daughters with our site should click on SIGN UP OUR DAUGHTER on our main page for a form to fill out.

Those who wish to propose to a specific Daughter should click on the PROPOSE button on the Daughter’s INFO CARD.

And there are bid prices for each kid! some near $50K.

This isn't a Christian dating site for teens, it's an arranged marriage site for pedophiles and whack jobs.

42. Domains by Proxy is based in Scottsdale, AZ, not this site
Nearly every person with a personal site who wants to keep their personal contact info out of WHOIS searches uses this service (particularly for domains purchased through Godaddy.com).

If you go to my personal website (primarily a high school biology page), Domains by Proxy is listed as the registrant as well.
