NYT/Reuters: Dixie Chicks Singer Buys $5.6 Million Home In L.A.

Published: September 2, 2007

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines has paid $5.6 million for a home in the upscale Los Angeles suburb of Brentwood, the Los Angeles Times reported on Sunday.

Maines, 32, already has homes near Austin, Texas, and in New York City, the paper added. The newest addition, in a gated community, boasts five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

The Dixie Chicks, country music's darlings until Maines criticized U.S. President George W. Bush during a concert four years ago, won five Grammy Awards earlier this year in a measure of the trio's respect within the music industry at large.

Maines' husband, actor Adrian Pasdar, appears in the TV series "Heroes," requiring his presence in Los Angeles for lengthy stretches, the Los Angeles Times said.

4. Natalie's dad, Lloyd...
is a friend of mine.

In spite of Rick Rubin's credit as producer, it was Lloyd all the way home.

And this shit has just been killing him.

Sweet inspiration.

Lloyd is the killer-handsome steel/Dobro player in the vids.

And his hand is always on the wheel.

Tom

7. I bet it has
the only thing harder than going through something like this would be to watch your child go through it. Lloyd is a legend in his own right. You just make sure he knows how much we love and adore Miss Natalie, you hear?

8. I gotcha. And by the way...
I took the liberty to look at your "profile".

Did you write that?

And if not, who did write it?

For it is beautiful.

11. 'Scuse me, but Natalie Maines & the Dixie Chicks are SINGERS.How should they travel?By Greyhound?
And what's it to you if someone makes good and chooses to spend their dough on extra houses? Is she claiming to have solar panels that she doesn't? Are you jealous? Or what?

Frankly, after the trashing -- not to mention outright death threats -- she got for speaking the truth about our Nekkid Emperor, a lot of us are really tickled that the group has continued to excel.

By the way, Welcome to DU!

15. Oh please.
Most of us here would live in a house like that if we could afford it. I would and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

If only to be the secret identity of Sylar, but still, I'm glad to see he's still in the show.

16. It always strikes me as wasteful to have such a big house unless you have a big family.
I mean really, does any one house really need seven bathrooms? WW2 submarines only had one or two and there was a hundred plus men in a metal tube. :)
