There is a reason Cheney will not be running in 2008.
He will be a de facto emperor by then.

4. He's been arranging his pieces and is about to checkmate us.
We all knew it, but now he's getting more bold. Soon he'll have to make his move, because he's about to be exposed.

26. Gonna be an interesting next 6 months or so.
I think his daughter, in her novel, had a passage based on the Cheney family philosophy she learned at the breakfast table. I can't quote it exactly, but in essence she was saying, through one of her characters, that if you have enough power you get to make your own rules, you can do whatever you want. The only trick is to make sure you hang onto the power.

27. Yes, I think the Libby trial is his downfall...
it's starting to really crumble around him, and I'm worried about that.

They are gone (I am pretty sure), and that whole area is crap now
Morristown is overpriced, and Denville is being McMansioned. Too many extra wealthy who think it is Bergen County.

6. Yes, everything.
That's all.

No, but seriously, if you look at Iraq and the centralization of power, Cheney's been the prime mover. He's the one who met with the oil executives. He's the one that pushed us into Iraq. He's the one who directed the leak against Plame.

And even this Pelosi plane story, I'm willing to bet he's behind it, because she'll be using his airplane.

Lompoc, Leavenworth, Fort Dix, Guantanamo.

These remain options.

can't exactly put my finger on it, but that was something sneaky. That's his style, and so I wouldn't doubt it.

I doubt anything is beyond his doing. I'm sure he's murdered before and will murder again.

So Emperor ... hell, that's a piece of cake for that monster.

17. Even with his 18% approval, he WOULD run for President, except
he's fat, bald and not aging well. He always knew he could never be President for those very reasons, I bet. Al Gore, Giuliani and McCain each have a part of that problem. At least Gore has the part of it that is somewhat addressable.

21. Nixon wasn't fat, he wasn't bald, and he aged better than
McCain and Cheney are these days. Hell, it could be argued that he was better looking than Hubert Humphrey and George McGovern - how else could such a relatively unattractive stick get to be a two-term President?

Both good men, but both rather homely.
