why this feeling of dread? WHY do I worry about tonite's speech?
Why do I think that Rove/Cheney have concocted some plan to embarrass the Democrats, to confuse the public and to regain all that they have lost?
Why do i fear tonite's little talk? especially when only 28% support him?

Am I being paranoid? Unnecessarily? or does my radar suspect a dirty trick?

1. Nah. I think they've finally run out of steam. Relax, have a drink and watch
the speech. It oughta be good for a laugh or two.

2. Well . . . they still do hold a lot of cards.
But I think Redstone is right. They've been exposed in the light of day. The system is starting to work like it's supposed to.

5. Because you're paranoid,
after 6 years of watching Bush kick our asses as we sat helplessly, impotently watching. But we own DC now. Things are different now. Sit back, relax, and watch Bush desperately plead to a nation that's long since turned its back on him.

10. damn, just as I was taking a sip.
yeah, that might be one thing. Although the LAtimes article on no weapons coming from Iran is striking in its depth and timing, especially since this is a TRIBUNE company paper. Of course, TribCo owners and LATimes editors have been at war with one another.

18. they were too damn successful...
wrecking liberal america and its long term institutions. now there's a horrible storm coming and they have tossed out all the safety net stuff...
here's a couple dots: 1) vast numbers of americans have no health insurance, vaster numbers have inadeqaute insurance, civic infrastructure needs tens/billions to fixup. and 2) the usa government can afford to throw $2 BILLION a week at iraq war, a war basically manufactured for private interests completely removed from national security....
hmmmm

20. I have kind of a funny feeling, too.
So I was glad to see your post. Maybe tonight will be the night that Bush reveals the true depth of depravity of his poor, twisted soul to America. I've always wondered if he'd lose it on national tv. In the end, it all depends on what the voices tell him to do.

23. He was well medicated last week.
A neurologist buddy thought that Bush was on beta blockers to the extreme during his last talk. The affect, the monotone, the approach, and the refusal of bushistas to allow still photos of him during his performance.

So, I suspect he will be medicated again this time, but perhaps with a lower dose.

Because there are no questions, I expect no blow-ups, but I still have this bad feeling.

27. Now, that's interesting. I thought the same thing.
But I would never have guessed beta blockers. I can try to get a look at the size of his pupils tonight. He'll need beta blockers, for sure, if he listens to Jim Webb's rebuttal.

I think misgivings are sane and healthy for anyone having experience with cornered rats and other desperate, lame animals. C-czar Disgustsus has a couple of bent piston rods in his 10 horsepower skull and there's no telling when he reaches for the button.
