David Nabarro is new U.N. system influenza coordinator
The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America summit in Canada released a plan that establishes U.N. law along with regulations by the World Trade Organization and World Health Organization as supreme over U.S. law during a pandemic and sets the stage for militarizing the management of continental health emergencies.

At the same time, the U.S. Northern Command, or NORTHCOM, has created a webpage dedicated to avian flu and has been running exercises in preparation for the possible use of U.S. military forces in a continental domestic emergency involving avian flu or pandemic influenza.

The SPP plan gives primacy for avian and pandemic influenza management to plans developed by the WHO, WTO, U.N. and NAFTA directives – not decisions made by U.S. agencies.

WND also has reported President Bush signed in May two documents, National Security Presidential Directive-51 and Homeland Security Presidential Directive-20, which give the office of the president extraordinary powers to declare national emergencies and to assume near-dictatorial powers.

My first post.

Is this what they were up to at Montebello in Canada with the SPP? I'd appreciate comments.

10. Why?
Since I'm new too all this, maybe you could fill me in on why they are "NUTS"? Too controversial, or just don't get their facts straight, or read between the lines too well on the daily happenings?

2. Yes. It was.
And I personally think it's Canada's largest error since Confederation.

This is against everything that most Canadians believe in. It's against every principle that makes us different, as a people, from the US. It's a small bunch of elites that are taking us in this direction, Conrad Black among them, and it's just wrong.

4. Welcome to DU, djp2. A couple of points to remember here:

1. Beware of posting ANYTHING that ain't DLC-approved. You will be roundly mocked for such effrontery, in direct contravention of The Rules. But that's okay; stick to your guns.

2. Watch for the Bird Flu to become a real big-ass bogeyman sometime around Chri$tma$. The military-industrial complex has had ample time to perfect delivery mechanisms, as witnessed by the XDR TB passenger who was allowed to travel at-will a couple of months ago.

Oh, yeah. According to bu$hler, the UN is "irrelevant." We didn't need their approval to go into IraQ. Why should we be worried about them NOW?

6. Yeah, 'cause WorldNutDaily and Jerome Corsi...
have all kinds of credibility. Anyone using them as source material deserves to be roundly mocked.

9. I am following avian flu
in the scientific and medical realm. It is still cooking away with indonesia having it's 84th death this week. No pandemic yet and might not be for h5n1 but it is not a conspiracy.

5. what the fuck is "U.N. Law"?

unfuckingbelievable.

There is international law. Some of it is composed of treaties (conventions, agreements, accords, etc.).

Treaties are signed by independent nations voluntarily. If they want to abide by the treaty (and, equally importantly, want other countries to abide by the treaty), they sign.

There are various mechanisms involved before they are actually bound -- ratification, incorporation into domestic law where required, etc.

I can't even tell by skimming the piece of trash linked to in the opening post what the stupid and meaningless and misleading term "U.N. law" is actually referring to.

International law isn't "supreme over" anything. It is essentially PART OF national law, in nations that choose to adopt and recognize it.

But to answer your question:

Is this what they were up to at Montebello in Canada with the SPP?

No. It isn't. What they were up to was surrending Canadian and Mexican national sovereignty to the interests that control the US government.

Now if you people would just control your government, we all wouldn't have these problems.

8. Yeah, "they gonna come git da Bibles and guns!" Oh this is the left wing of the NeoKnowNothings
"They are going to come and lock up the liberals and atheists." At least both right wing and left wing agree that FEMA has the camps ready.
