Bremerton teenagers accused of assaults with milkshakes (get arrested)
You may remember a few weeks ago, the brouhaha over teens videotaping themselves assaulting clerks at drive-through restaurants. Here is some cheering news about a group of attackers who have been arrested. If the charges stand, I hope they face maximum jail time and none of this "they are teens and this is their first offense" rubbish.

Bremerton teenagers accused of assaults with milkshakes

BREMERTON — Police have arrested three teens accused of drive-by assaults with milkshakes in Bremerton.

A 21-year-old woman hit in the head while she was walking suffered a broken collarbone and a concussion.

A 32-year-old man who was hit in the back with two Wendy's milkshake cups was able to give police a description of the vehicle.

Police found a Jeep convertible with a Wendy's cup in a cup holder and arrested a 16-year-old and two 17-year-olds. The teens reportedly told police they had been out throwing milkshakes at people. They were taken to the Kitsap County Juvenile Detention Center for investigation of assault.

5. Some of us are not as steady on our feet as we once were.
An object does not have to be heavy to throw people off balance. Sometimes, the surprise and involuntary jerking of one's body is enough to cause a fall. That is why the spoiled idiots doing this shit need to be taken to jail for it. They ARE assaulting people and they need to learn a lesson they evidently weren't taught at the appropriate age.

Letting kids in their teens get away with violating other people is just not healthy for society. Children need to know there are boundaries. When no one gets that message across, the society is in trouble.

13. You know her health and condition?
I worked with a lot of younger people who had some problems with balance and movement.

And the most solid of us are still subject to jumping and getting off balance when startled. Easy to fall and break things.

6. Have you actually ever bought a milkshake in a drive-thru? Those things are practically frozen....
solid and they weigh quite a bit in a 32 oz or greater cup. I imagine that if you threw one with some force behind it you could do some serious damage.

9. I guess they were driving fast when they threw it.
I am glad she wasn't killed! A milkshake travelling at 70 mph would probably kill someone.

12. This appears to have taken place on the street, not the drive-thru...
...so depending on how dast they were driving when they threw it,it might have hit like a brick. Especially if the cap was on tight, so it wouldn't immediately deform and absorb part of the impact.

Hmmm. I think I finally have a suggestion for Mythbusters that someone hasn't beaten me out on.

I live in a college down and people are constantly referring to 20 or 21 years olds who do stupid things as "kids"--My feeling is once you leave HS, even if it's for college, you're not a kid anymore.

Waiting for certain DUers who have no problem with this to show up and start to defend the criminals. Yup. I said it. They're criminals.

11. Teenagers do some very stupid things.
They do not consider the consequences of their actions. I remember an incident I had with three young boys while I was on leave from the Marine corps years ago. They threw some sort of "pop rock" things at my car as I passed by them going the opposite direction. They didn't know me, just a random act of stupidity. I thought they had thrown some rocks and I turned around. They saw this and stopped thinking it was going to be "fun" to beat me up or something, after all it was three against one.
I got out of my car and all of a sudden they were using words like "I'm sorry" and "sir" and "we won't do it again". I guess they didn't expect someone driving a Toyota corolla to be 6'6" and 250 pounds.

15. Too many of them just don't expect that there are consequenses to actions
having never learned that as small children. Too many just grow; they don't actually get raised and taught anything.

Unless they are black or extremely poor, which I doubt, they won't see the inside of a jail. Welcome to America.
