Has it been two years already? Two years since Brownie was doing a heckofajob managing the devastating effects of hurricane Katrina? Or was it potential Attorney General, but then Homeland Security Director Chertoff's ugly mistake? Was it a mistake at all? Does it matter?

Two years of polluted and toxic FEMA trailers, two years of broken dreams and, as Bush puts it, bloodshot eyes? Two years since Mammy Bush said the displaced victims were better off living on cots in a gymnasium shelter than in their own homes because they were economically depressed anyway, so who cares? Two years since Trent Lott lost his splendiferous vacation home on the Gulf Coast with its famed front porch? Two years since the cowardly Chickenhawk flew over the floods, literally and figuratively above the drowning populace that he claims he represents.

How many displaced and dead American citizens is it now? What's the suicide rate in that area now? Heard any jobless reports? Home ownership rates? What does a life insurance policy cost a person in that area these days?

The Bush Crime Family treats the devastated gulf coast like it does any third world nation they plunder, then trash: they ignore it. So what if the populace is scattered, smothered and covered like so many Waffle House hash browns? Those little people didn't vote much anyhow. And when they did it wasn't for Republicans.

Two years. Funny how the time goes. We hear so much about (illegal) war-torn Iraq, but what "progress" has been made on the devastated gulf coast?

We'll discuss it tonight.

Cosmo's the same. :( But he ate a little today. We'll get his test results tomorrow. Skid's ultrasound was cancelled. I brought him to the vet this morning. A couple of hours after I dropped him off, the vet called and she was wondering why we hadn't done a fecal float to test for intestinal parasites (she'd mentioned it before but the way our apartment is set up, there is no way we can sequester him from the other kitties). So since he was at the office anyway, we decided to wait and see if they could get a sample there. He hadn't gone by the time the office closed, so Skid's spending the night at the vet's office in the hopes that he will have gone by the morning.

We're all doing fairly well. JuneBug isn't feeling well. She has been more or less in hiding and not showing up much for her favorite: juice from a can of wet cat food. I have to figure out how to catch her. She and LuLu are going in next. LuLu due for check-up next week, so I'll get blood work done again. JuneBug is getting up in age so there may be something going on. I'll hope for the best.

I don't think that he's in either of the side neighbors' garages as he didn't particularly care for their cats, and I didn't see him at either house. The neighbors across the street (the ones whose cats we look out for when they're away) leave one of their garage doors open a little so that their cats can go in and out, but it would be difficult for a medium to large dog to get in.

Those neighbors were more than sad when I called them to ask if they'd seen Nosy after he'd been gone for 2-3 days as they were fond of him. :hi: :hug:
