The same argument could be framed by David Vitter: Hypocrite vs whoremonger/diaper fetishist.
It could also be claimed by Bill Clinton. After all, he did shake his finger at the camera while referring to his adult-age, intern as “that woman.”
The difference in these “indiscretions” and the associated hypocrisy is that President Bill Clinton eventually came clean and professed his regrets (at being caught in the act.) More importantly, he never really made his platform about marital fidelity.
On the other-hand, Vitter and Craig seized upon the Clinton scandal to call all hellfire upon him. And in spite of more recent scandals from various Republican figures that have been compelled to resign or go into rehab, these two scumbags have the balls to play themselves as victims of a family values/anti-homosexual system that they fervently supported.
Actually, that’s not entirely true. They are blaming the “liberal” media for exposing their hypocrisy. The Clintons similarly called it a “right wing conspiracy.” It’s what the worst people do when they are caught red handed. Deny and deflect the blame elsewhere.
Craig seems to have totally misunderstood this process. He initially admitted guilt. Paid fines. I’m sure that was the right thing for him to do at the time. In fact, I applaud him for it. Obviously, he was hoping the incident would be swept under the carpet.
Now that it’s out, he is whacking out as if it never happened according to his own admission. That’s just stupid. Even Lindsay Lohan and Mark Foley know that just because they check themselves into rehab, it doesn’t mean they have to stop with their obsessions.
There are some online suggestions that he could have turned this incident around by coming out of the closet. The only problem with that is that he’s been hiding inside the Republican closet that demonizes all things gay. Bless his heart. He really missed an opportunity for himself and his Idaho constituents by not owning up to the “homosexual” scandal that he and the GOP created.
Idaho Senator Craig is either an idiot or a total hypocrite or both. In either scenario he is a fool. Bless his heart. He should just make up his mind and settle with what brings him the most peace. (If only it were that simple. How is he going to earn any income for his front family without any real world skills other than being gay. Where are the gay lobbyists when you need them?)
He should either go as a hypocrite or stay as an open homosexual, although I would prefer that he had smarter homosexual discretion, I suspect that he is an idiot and will resign to some rehab program that has nothing to do with his sexuality.
