Tucker Carlson criticizes Fitzgerald without full disclosure about his father's involvement
But it's okay because he said it doesn't affect him.

"But with all he's had to say about the case, there is one thing that Tucker Carlson has failed to mention: That his father, Richard Carlson, is on the advisory committee of the Libby Legal Defense Trust, the GOP-heavy-hitter-laden group that has so far raised $2 million.

Indeed, Richard Carlson was the Early Money Is Like Yeast of Libby defense fund-raisers, having couriered a check to Libby's home the morning he was indicted.

From Tucker's blog:

Liberal columnist Arianna Huffington wrote a blog attacking me for not revealing that my father has given money to Scooter Libby's legal defense fund. Her points were absurd, her tone was nasty. The fact that she dragged a member of my family into it made me red-in-the-face mad. I would have loved the chance to tell her this in person, and we tried. Unfortunately, a few hours ago a woman who identified herself as Arianna's quote, "chief of staff" informed us that Huffington would not be coming on the show tonight. That's a shame. But I'd still like to make a few quick points:

I didn't mention my father's support for Scooter Libby because it was irrelevant. Completely and utterly. Libby was my father's personal lawyer long before he joined the Bush administration. They're friends, and that has nothing at all to do with me. I've met Scooter Libby precisely once.

So you see, the fact that Tucker seems to be taking this Libby/Fitzgerald thing so personally has nothing to do with the fact that Tucker's family is personally involved.

16. Well, how do you think Tucker GOT his job?
Edited on Wed Jan-24-07 10:00 AM by rocknation
If he thinks that his father running Libby's defense fund is "irrelevant," what more proof do you need that he's too incompetent to be where he is on merit alone?

4. Dan Abrams must have TC apologize...
...for not disclosing his conflict of intereset during the rant on his show today. If MSNBC does not address this they will be in very slimey FauxNews territory.

6. And Keith should tell Dan "If you don't address it, I will."
Edited on Tue Jan-23-07 06:39 PM by rocknation
How does this make Keith's taking Faux to the woodshed about their handling of the Barack Obama madrassah story? Please, Dan, don't force him to point out that pointing out a true fact is not "attacking" and then explaining exactly what a conflict of interest is!

17. But....Dan Abrams father is Floyd Abrams who was Judith Miller's
attorney in the Libby case. What a wonderful web those MSNBC folks live in. Conflict of Interest throughout NBC/MSNBC/CNBC/GE. The Media as part of the Government and the Military Industrial Complex.

I won't even go into CNN's bias and where it comes from because it's more hidden and harder to unravel.
The best thing that can be said is that MSNBC/NBC/CNBC/GE is pretty open about their connections. They just hire the sons of prominent Washingtonians and even a former congressman and hill staffer to "report" their news. Sort of in your face with it. They figure most Americans either won't find out the nepotism or they won't give a damn if they do know.

10. Now I'm hungry for spaghetti
"Heh, come over here, kid, learn something. You never know, you might have to cook for 20 guys someday. You see, you start out with a little bit of oil. Then you fry some garlic. Then you throw in some tomatoes, tomato paste, you fry it; ya make sure it doesn't stick. You get it to a boil; you shove in all your sausage and your meatballs; heh…? And a little bit o' wine. An' a little bit o' sugar, and that's my trick."

9. His blog from 2006?
Was that the date this response was posted?

Let's see what he says now.

I e-mailed MSNBC when I saw his coverage today. My argument is not about his biased opinion but his fake "What's goin on here?" crap. He can cover the case & its facts but he shouldn't act like a confused outsider. I hope now that the trial has started and it is news again he will have to address the connection and stop the acting performance.

My post about Tucker/MSNBC:
