The diff between Dems and "The Other White Meat"
Dems generally would prefer to be out of the closet, if they're gay. It saves a lot of trouble down the road. I mean, hey, other than McGreevey, I can't think of another Dem who's been outed and caught flack for it. The biggest problem for him wasn't that he was gay, it was that he used his office to skim off some of the public funds to get a job for his gay boyfriend. If he was straight and did that shit for his mistress, he'd still be royally fucked. So when you look at it, it was more of a public trust issue than sexual improprieties. I think that McGreevey would still be a gov if he just came out and hadn't abused his office.

Now Republican'ts on the other hand... Have you ever seen a bigger bunch of hypocritical horny old fuckers in you life? I haven't.

Small boys, prostitutes, relatives and, who knows, maybe even Mexican donkeys aren't safe around this sorry bunch of freakazoids.

They aren't a party of Gross Old Perverted for nothing.

1. I think you greatly overestimate how open our party is
to GLBT people. Democrats push "tolerance," and often it seems like we're tolerated at best.

There are pockets of acceptance, but that does not equate to the whole party, or even most of it.

3. I'm sure that's the case
But the key for me is the absence of the type of hypocrisy that the scumbag Republicans love to practice so egregiously.

You'll never see me in GBLT parade, not because I hate gays, but because I really don't have a horse in that race. However, I believe that no one should be discriminated against because of sexual orientation. I'm all for gay marriage because I think that gays should be as miserable as straight folks are... Spread the wealth.

The Modern Democratic Party is a vast conglomeration of disparate groups who are trying to get along and make things better for us all.

It's good to have allies in the party, it's also a good thing that those who tolerate you are not your enemies. Like "The other white meat"

(I love that)
